Title: The Manticore and the first photo of me with it!
Post by: Valx Vanzan on November 24, 2012, 02:24:18 AM
Well it arrived today. My first. My first Ultra Saber. I have to say that I have no regrets in my choice. The Manticore is beautiful and it's definitely beautiful in Blazing Red. Looks like this will be my first personal photo for this forum for awhile. Sorry I didn't take any close ups of the saber itself yet, but there are plenty who've beat me to that to satisfy.  Maybe I'll add some if I come up with something artsy with the Canon 5D.   To elaborate on the Manticore I'm holding I chose to go with the Midgrade Ultra Edge blade and couldn't resist adding sound.  To keep costs a little lower I did have to skip the FoC and recharge port.  Though, I did spring for the low profile pommel and blade retention wrench. Now to decide what my next saber will be and what will look best crossing blades with this one on the wall.

Sweet! That's one of the first Manticore shots that I've seen being held. It's not as long as I thought it was. That's a great saber and is now in direct contention as a choice with the Overlord as the competition. Dark or light points?

Yeah, it has a great feel. Just long enough to hold good with two hands but still great in one hand. Dark side points please.

Fantastic looking picture my friend!

Thank you XWX.

Nice saber and good picture. You seem to have some photography skills. I need a tri pod. xp This is giving me so many ideas now for some different angles. And you made me want a Manticore even more now.

Thanks. It's true, I used to shoot weddings and assist on some commercial photography. I was a little lazy on this one though. I just used my iPhone and leaned it against a bowl of fruit on the table in front of me, but a tripod would work too.
