Finally, as much of a fan as I am of AV colours matching the blade/LED colour, the blue really works with that pink. My first saber went AB blade with a blue AV switch. Then I won a Monarch in a raffle and it came PO blade with a blue AV switch and looks really great to me. I'm planning a Shock LE with a VA or maybe DVA blade and a green or red AV switch. I think the mismatch can look good! Haha sorry for rambling there. Still love the Manticore staff! The color in the pictures is quite accurate. It's very pink in person. In my opinion, mismatched AV/LED colors are the best choice in some cases, i.e. when you can't get the exact same color for the blade and the switch. Of course one could try to match the Hot Pink with a red AV switch. But I thought that a blue AV switch would look better, and I'm very happy with how it turned out. Will have to show her these pics. I was so close to purchasing a second Manticore to make myself a staff but since I only have this one with sound I think I e talked myself into getting a totally different hilt so I feel like I have more of a collection. Point for the sexy staff.

I hadn't seen a pic of duel Manticores made into a staff but thats what I got anyway. I did not go with hot pink, nothing aginst you or anyone else loving that color. Mine will be Arctic Blue. Rest asured, pictures will be forth coming. Possibly a video if the mood strikes me. After getting my Manticore in Sentinel Yellow I considered getting another one with the exact same set up and buying a Flush Vented Coupler to make up a saber staff. After seeing these photos I think I am a step closer. ;D I have tried using O-rings on the Flush Vented Coupler to make the AV switches line up which is a plus. The downside to that option is that the saber staff has too much flex in the middle which gives the saber a wobble when wielded. So I removed the O-rings for dueling and kept them on for cons. |
