Title: Custom Crystal Chambers Tutorial and Gallery (Pic Heavy) Post by: Sky Dragon c5 on March 05, 2013, 04:41:10 AM Here are some custom crystal chamber blade plugs I made for my sabers
(http://img69.imageshack.us/img69/5884/sam0081l.jpg) Materials: Bead Store: Pendants, Beads, 18 gauge copper wire Office store: Adhesive Putty (Sticky Tak) Procedure Pendants: 1. Wrap putty around the pendant's hanging part and the bottom of the gem 2. Mold to slightly smaller than circumference of the inside of the plug 3. Flatten bottom before insertion. 4. Insert and affix to inside Procedure Beads: 1. Wrap copper wire around or/and through the beads 2. Leave a fair amount of extra on one side to wrap the putty around for grip 3. Mold to slightly smaller than circumference of the inside of the plug 4. Flatten bottom before insertion. 5. Insert and affix to inside Of course you can modify this for however you want. These were just my steps! My Crystals Chakra Pendant Quarts with smaller gems in a spectrum Using this for my RGB Dark Shock, which makes sense due to all the colors the saber puts out. Amethyst For my Shock LE in Violet. When I get it. XD Quarts For my Silver Dark Liberator or Sun Rider Arbiter Clear works for anything really 2 glass beads warped in wire Just used with materials as a beginning point for testing Still looks good for anything Pictures (http://img26.imageshack.us/img26/2879/sam0082bg.jpg) (http://img402.imageshack.us/img402/3121/sam0083a.jpg) (http://img402.imageshack.us/img402/3121/sam0083a.jpg) (http://img62.imageshack.us/img62/2355/sam0084zm.jpg) (http://img17.imageshack.us/img17/9969/sam0085m.jpg) (http://img577.imageshack.us/img577/4773/sam0086r.jpg) (http://img152.imageshack.us/img152/7381/sam0087dn.jpg) (http://img831.imageshack.us/img831/4778/sam0088n.jpg) (http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/5531/sam0089b.jpg) Pics inside my sabers with crystal chambers: (http://img28.imageshack.us/img28/4444/sam0093b.jpg) (http://img62.imageshack.us/img62/8072/sam0092j.jpg) (http://img690.imageshack.us/img690/909/sam0094v.jpg) (http://img818.imageshack.us/img818/8550/sam0096pm.jpg) (http://img854.imageshack.us/img854/968/sam0098b.jpg) (http://img51.imageshack.us/img51/8810/sam0099q.jpg) (http://img189.imageshack.us/img189/9482/sam0100j.jpg) (http://img580.imageshack.us/img580/4758/sam0101x.jpg) (http://img801.imageshack.us/img801/5905/sam0103h.jpg) As a note I love the Manticore emitter because you can have enough space so the blade plug goes in but is not damages as the retention screw is just above the length of the plug. (http://img831.imageshack.us/img831/5030/sam0104n.jpg) In my Archon v2 emitter with the vented coupler there is even more space so it doesn't fall out, but does move around a bit. Still no damage to the plug by a retention screw. If you do use a retention screw against a plug, as some of you may know, it leaves a dent like on the blades, try to avoid this as it will make you plug look like it is damaged and blocs you from seeing the crystal inside. I still am going to get a Dark War Galive emitter for my Dark Shock RGB for it having a chamber. I am moving my Manticore emitter to my Shock LE in Violet when I get it. I also have yet to buy an Overlord in Red Might for a Reaper too After those steps are done more pics will go up with those emitters Next order ill order more extra blade plugs for this. I had these ones unused as of yet as I always order one with every saber, and only actively used one untill this point as I display my sabers with blades in.. at least until I did this! Ill be making some saber stands soon too for my vented sabers so you can see the gems inside them! Hope this inspires more of you to try to make your own chambers! Even if you don't have a chamber or vents on your saber, the nice part with this is it requires no machine work or cutting of your saber, plus you can show off your gems like in my first pic! only because you don't want them Title: Re: Custom Crystal Chambers Tutorial and Gallery (Pic Heavy) Post by: mcnaughtonM on April 02, 2013, 08:25:34 AM These are a really good idea. In the first couple of photos I was unsure of whether they would look good due to the putty you have in there, but you can't even see it!
Also I have you a Dark point as you were sitting on +1 :p Title: Re: Custom Crystal Chambers Tutorial and Gallery (Pic Heavy) Post by: JEStucker on April 02, 2013, 12:11:05 PM You're still at +1, so I guess I'll be nice and take one away too ;D
