Very cool. Is it going to be colored or are you keeping it as is?

Very nice! Twi'leks have always been my favorite Star Wars race and I just love the looks of them. Do you have a saber to go with it? :P

@Darth Abaddon: Yes they are going to be colored they are going to be purple. I need to order the paint tomorrow.

@eerockk: Thanks, its really Pam at Twi'lek Creations http://chucrew.com/Twilek/Twilek.htm (http://chucrew.com/Twilek/Twilek.htm) that derives the praise for the lekku themselves she does such amazing work.

@Sky Dragon c5: I will be posting the finally product and the photoshot photos once they are done.

@Venturous: I have a Shock LE with VA that I'll be using along with my costume. Once I get the $300 I will be ordering my 2nd saber for my double bladed. But that wont be in time for con.

@Jedi Relmeob: Thanks for the point :)

You can see the design for the char here: http://www.saberforum.com/index.php?topic=11643.0 (http://www.saberforum.com/index.php?topic=11643.0)

My wife and I helped a friend with her Aayla Secura with wraps around the tails.  She tried everything to keep them down.  Spray adhesive didn't seem to work over the paint and neither did hot glue.  In the end, she had to tack down a thin strip of velcro into the skin of the lekku and then sew the velcro onto the underside of her wraps.  Be very careful about tacking it and look at Tandy before you look at Joanns for the tacks.

@chicago.jedi: Yes its latex

@Volund Starfire: I need to be able to remove the striping with out damaging my lekku. (I can't afford to buy another set) But I'm going to be painting a black design over the top of the purple base, on top of having my headwarp. So I'm going to wait and see if I even what/need to do the warping before I figure out how to put them on.

For your wraps...wrap the material and once happy with it, sew the joints to each other and not the head appliance...once complete it will be like a wide open fish net sock  :D

That's a great idea!  Make it like a slip-on appliance for the lekku!

I've made on the spot costumes that were mostly straps; Key West Fantasy Fest...it is one of those events that is just insane...I made buckets of money lol.

Anyway the straps had to hang and hold their shape throughout an energetic parade/party day/night...built them the same way...lace, quick staple, sew, remove staple.

:D

This is...I think the 2nd coating of the paint. As you can see I need more...

Still a bit damp 4th coating.

The ONE spot that is pissing me off.

That spot most likely had leftover release agent on it from the casting.  Let it completely dry then recoat.

I like the color  :D
