i saw a video of someone placing these under water in a swimming pool and they still worked as if nothing was wrong is that a standard feature or is there some type of sealant to keep water out?

No sealants.  It's just simple, durable, basic wiring.  You'd wan't to seal your blade, though, or it'll get water damage inside the blade itself.  Otherwise, as long as you don't have sound in the saber, it should be good.

Yep. I've seen Ultra answer this before, seal your blade on the bottom by means of glueing a clear plastic disc over the hole, and so long as the saber doesn't have sound it will be fine. Just don't forget to dry off the battery contacts afterwards, as a precaution against rust. Man, the more I see people talk about this the more I wanna try it. *stares sneakily at unsuspecting SI on shelf* lol

Seriously?  Even with the rgb or more complicated wiring setups, as long as there's no sound you're good? (just dry thoroughly afterward)  ...  Really thinking about freaking out my friends and just diving in the pool dual wielding.  I think I'm too scared.   :-\

Make sure you do it at night, and turn off the lights in the pool if you have any. Maximum effect. Maximum awesomness :D
