Title: Trick for showing actual blade color
Post by: Lord Benzile on May 02, 2013, 12:20:56 AM

I posted a review for my dark initiate v3 LE few days ago. We all know cameras show up white glowing inner just like in the movies for those watching at home. But for us in actual ignite time its not. Tip is if you have a LCD TV just hold the saber ignited up to the screen when its off. This will give peoplea better idea the closest color of what we are actually seeing.

Cool idea. Does it work on Plasmas?

i dont see why it shouldnt. i thinks its the black of the tv screen which has to do with it. how the black decreases the brightness levels the camera picks up

Got some examples to post?  Preferably include a pic of the same saber NOT in front of a TV so we can see the difference?  :)

I've posted a couple articles on the forums about how different camera settings affect the look of the saber. It is possible to see a truer color in the reflection of a TV, but if you do not have anything to reflect the color, then you have to rely on the camera to get the color you want. Here are the links to the posts where I talk about all of that:
