Title: Saber stand
Post by: jonesy360 on May 07, 2013, 10:06:26 AM
hi,so this is what i came up with to hold my sabers, spare blades and my anakin umbrella.
this is a fishing rod holder, ebay about 30 bucks,it holds 16 sabers or 10 sabers 6 blades, etc,it has lockable caster wheels and the blades are locked into the top shelf via a revolving holder.
as i cant drill holes in my walls this is fantastic
hope you enjoy   ;) :D ;D :o

Nice! I've been thinking about getting some kind of holder or stand, and that's a really cool way of stashing them. Plenty of room for expansion, too!

Awesome Idea! +1 Just from looking on amazon really quick, for not fully assembled ones but just cool parts to create your own here are a few parts ideas..

http://www.amazon.com/Seasense-Single-Piece-Holder-White/dp/B004XAK90O/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1368073088&sr=8-5&keywords=Fishing+Rod+Holder  (http://www.amazon.com/Seasense-Single-Piece-Holder-White/dp/B004XAK90O/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1368073088&sr=8-5&keywords=Fishing+Rod+Holder)

http://www.amazon.com/South-Bend-Heavy-Spiral-Holder/dp/B000ZKPHVM/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1368073088&sr=8-2&keywords=Fishing+Rod+Holder (http://www.amazon.com/South-Bend-Heavy-Spiral-Holder/dp/B000ZKPHVM/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1368073088&sr=8-2&keywords=Fishing+Rod+Holder)

http://www.amazon.com/Berkley-Twist-Lok-Rod-Rack/dp/B000XU0NB8/ref=pd_sim_sg_5 (http://www.amazon.com/Berkley-Twist-Lok-Rod-Rack/dp/B000XU0NB8/ref=pd_sim_sg_5)

For complete one..

This horizontal rack I think is my personal favorite because its horizontal:

http://www.amazon.com/RackEm-Horizontal-6-Rod-Fishing-Rack/dp/B005A32P78/ref=sr_1_13?ie=UTF8&qid=1368073088&sr=8-13&keywords=Fishing+Rod+Holder (http://www.amazon.com/RackEm-Horizontal-6-Rod-Fishing-Rack/dp/B005A32P78/ref=sr_1_13?ie=UTF8&qid=1368073088&sr=8-13&keywords=Fishing+Rod+Holder)

This one is pretty awesome too, and would def. work
 it goes on and on.

http://www.amazon.com/DU-BRO-Fishing-Trac-A-Rod-Storage-System/dp/B0000BYPF1/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&qid=1368073088&sr=8-11&keywords=Fishing+Rod+Holder (http://www.amazon.com/DU-BRO-Fishing-Trac-A-Rod-Storage-System/dp/B0000BYPF1/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&qid=1368073088&sr=8-11&keywords=Fishing+Rod+Holder)

This one with straps is a cool idea:
http://www.amazon.com/Loop-Hold-Flexible-Fishing-Rack-Black/dp/B0054QV8QU/ref=sr_1_52?ie=UTF8&qid=1368073610&sr=8-52&keywords=Fishing+Rod+Holder (http://www.amazon.com/Loop-Hold-Flexible-Fishing-Rack-Black/dp/B0054QV8QU/ref=sr_1_52?ie=UTF8&qid=1368073610&sr=8-52&keywords=Fishing+Rod+Holder)

Last but not least, this would be great..you put your sabers on both sides, and then with the shelves in the middle you could put all your collectibles etc..

Thanks Jonesy! To everyone trying to get a Kamikaze stand, If you look, that's the seller. He sells his stands on ebay, so just because you missed out and there isnt that exact stand on ebay, I'm sure you could message them now witht he link Jonesy has provided.

@Enzo, that one is Awesome, though I found many awesome ones on Amazon that I didnt post that are like that because I'm pretty sure youd have to modify the top. Those are still good links, I just didnt post because I had already posted a bunch so people should check out ebay and amazon under Fishing Rod Rack for sure.

I like this simple 12 cue holder.  Wish the description mentioned its size.  A little black spray paint...

Here is a similar 8 cue holder...

A pool cue holder could work, but don't you think all those holders and stuff are wayyy to small to fit a saber? I feel like unless you altered them the links I posted would work more.

One that I didnt post at first because I thought it was a stretch, I am beginning to consider myself. I currently will receive my first saber today, so I wont need an entire rack. Positioned vertically and possible painted star wars themed this could be really cool mounted on the wall..

Actual paddle clips are always nice, too.

EDIT: I didnt notice how heap katana stand are on amazon..I'll probably grab one of those for now.

Also the gun and sword wall racks are perfect and cheap on amazon as well for others looking.

How big is a fishing rod, especially the rod end clip?

How big is a fishing rod, especially the rod end clip?

not big enough to hold a blade,so most would need modding, that was a reason i picked the kamikazi, its perfect and needed no modds whatsoever, just assembled it and stuck em in,i am going to buy another and screw them together, as i dont want the sabers on the back row,ill keep the back row for blades only,so that gives me 16 front row saber spots
i guess ill be having a 16 saber collection at least, only 6 to go to reach that goal, hehe
im waiting on a second Archon atm so will post some picks with illuminated sabers ;)

Yea Jonesy, yours is the ebst design with the highest quality I've seen so far for sabers for sure. But anyone not willing to pay as much as a bunch of alternatives as you can see from my previous posts. Thanks for the idea that led to all of that. I had never thought about fishing rod holders lol

I just checked more reviews, and even found one with a red midgrade blade no sounds, they ALL have silver buttons. I'm so stoked on that little addition.

RCMUSTANG came up with the idea of using Maglite clips - see http://www.saberforum.com/index.php?topic=9870.0 (http://www.saberforum.com/index.php?topic=9870.0) which I think looks pretty good. One to consider if you have the wall space.

Otherwise, pool or snooker cue holders should work, but gauging the diameter of the clips is difficult. I may take a blade into our local sports shop and see if it fits.

Ignore that post up there from me^ As you know James, wrong thread.

Thanks for the maglite clips, man!

Much appreciated Jonesy. I guess technically since I'm a Jed'aii its ok to go back and forth a little (especially if I want to wield a force saber lol) but its all about balance so I appreciate the point back to zero!
