Title: Sith Sound Question
Post by: The_Night on May 22, 2011, 03:23:58 PM
Just another question for you guys, what year soundboard do you use for the sith sounds? I know the older ones only have one sound for the clash and fewer swing effects as well. just wondering so i can plan out what i want to do for my next saber

n00b question, what's the difference between the sith and jedi sounds? I mean I have two Master Replica sabers and they sound the same mostly. So yeah?

the sith board has more of a deeper buzz type sound where as the jedi board is more of a higher pitch hum. the clash sounds are different as well.

with the 2009 series do you get multiple clash sounds with the sith board? i know with the 2010 boards you do but im not sure about the 09's. anybody that ordered a sith saber recently have multiple clash effects?

As far as I can tell, there's only one clash sound.  :-\

I have noticed a difference in between some of my sabers. I have the older MR's, but you can still hear a slight difference. The Sith is deeper and sounds a little more darker than the Jedi. The moving hum is a little different I believe as well. The clash sound I think is the most different though. With the Sith *at least for my sabers* you get one clash that kind of sounds electric. Thats a bad description, but there is only one. The Jedi sound seems to have to different sounds also different from the Sith version. More of a crisper slash I think. More than likely they did that because of the whole Sith synthetic thing. I may be off a bit with info, but that is what I got from my sabers.

I think Im going to say the opposite there and say that I like the Jedi board better. The darker hum is cool, but I like the different variety of clash sounds. If you can put different sounds with the Sith board, I think you would get a better sounding one. Then again, that is why we have awesome boards out there to customize.
