I'm doing some customizing to my Dark Shock. So far I've got the accent holes drilled. I managed this quite well, using the mill at work. The holes are drilled very precisely and it turned out rather well for just marking the holes by eye.

At first I started with this:

But I felt it needed more. So I came up with the idea to make a swirl pattern going around the whole emitter...

I think the Dark Shock is an elegant looking hilt and I wanted to add a little grace in with it. The swirl pattern achieves this nicely, I think!

The only other plans I have, is replacing the black covertec with a regular aluminum one. I didn't want to change the overall look too much, just accent it nicely.

its amazing what a few extra holes in the emiter can do for the overall look of a saber. i did a similar thing to my standard issue around the emiter. i eyeballed it too but a couple of the holes are off by the slightest bit. i like the way it has a swirl look to it, very cool, nicely done.

I know what I'm going to do with this now! A ways down the road when I have the extra money, I'm sending this in to the CSO division! I'm gonna see if I can get a red AV switch, have an Obsidian installed to replace the FX board and get the black covertec switched out for a silver one like I had originally planed. Also get the Li-Ion setup as well. Should be SWEET!!!!  ;D

Thank you! And yes I really do want this saber to be "more awesome"!  :D  It's my first saber and I want it to be as spectacular as possible! It will probably always be my favorite and this I think will reinforce that!  ;D

That is really cool man, It reminds me of the Dark Initiate V2 that I did a while back, I drilled some holes in the emmitter in a strait line for accents.

Very cool, nice job.  I actually thought of this as well for my shock when I seen the liberator.  I didn't want to try it cause I figured you would need a drill press and all I have access to is a hand drill.
