Title: can't seem to fix my blade Post by: Foxray on June 11, 2011, 05:12:39 AM (http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/hh272/foxray/Ultra%20Edge%20Heavy%20Grade%20blade%20problem/DSC00031.jpg) PROBLEM: Ultra Edge Heavy Grade blade has spiral in film Several of my sabers have this problem: there is a strange spiral going up the blade. I've read in another thread on this forum that if you whack the blade on the arm of a couch, chair or duel it will go away. Well I duel with my sabers almost every weekend and I've tried attacking my couch a few times, but it hasn't gone away. In fact it spread from the emitter all the way to the tip. It dosen't bother me much but my friends always ask why my blade has that pattren in it. I'm not complaining that it looks bad ( I kinda like it ) but I thought it would be an interesting thing to talk about. Is there any way to fix this without removing the glue at the base of the blade? Title: Re: can't seem to fix my blade Post by: AerykGunn on June 11, 2011, 08:54:25 PM I'm not sure that's very weird o.O.. I hear what you're saying but.. I can't really fully see the difference (I'm partially color blind so it.. kinda doesn't have much coloration difference) but if it isn't bad and it looks cool hey that's just some cool uniqueness :) but... I have no idea what to tell you sorry.. :( I think I see it and if I'm seeing it right it does look kinda cool but... hopefully someone will answer you soon.
Title: Re: can't seem to fix my blade Post by: Darth Ryuyee on June 11, 2011, 08:58:05 PM Try hitting the blade tip to emitter. Well not at the very tip because your tip will pop off.
Title: Re: can't seem to fix my blade Post by: Warlock Umbra on June 11, 2011, 09:04:14 PM You might have to remove all the glue from the bottom of the blade to fix the film inside. Use an exacto knife to do this and after fixing the film, glue it back in place. I've heard Gorilla Glue is good and I think you can use hot glue too (not positive though). My Dark Shock has this problem, but only a little bit above the emitter. I just haven't gotten around to fixing it yet, cause it's hardly noticeable anyways. Hope this helps! :)

Title: Re: can't seem to fix my blade Post by: Ex Nihilus on June 12, 2011, 12:36:42 AM This is a super easy fix, don't worry! Myself and a few others have had this problem. Ultra basically said that to fix it, whack the blade against the arm of a couch a few times. Basically what happened is that the film inside the blade got a bit twisted... and hitting it a few times with some good whacks should straighten it out again.
When it happened to me, I got frustrated because even though I hit it a few times, it didn't seem to straighten out. Then one day when I was practicing my spinning, I dropped it, and BAM!!!!.... all better! If hitting it around doesn't work, you can cut the glue in the base of the blade and straighten the film out and then re-glue it. Title: Re: can't seem to fix my blade Post by: Foxray on June 12, 2011, 02:48:42 AM Thanks for the help. ;D I've given up on trying to remove the spiral pattren, I like it too much and it will not go away. The blade has had the pattren for almost two months now despite my attempts to remove it.
BETTER PICS NOTE: To get a photo of the spiral pattren I had to drastically alter my camera's exposure times or elce it just appears as a bright full blade. Also the pattren only showes up to the camera when viewed from a looking down view. Title: Re: can't seem to fix my blade Post by: Darkhorse V on June 13, 2011, 03:00:43 PM I had a really stubborn spiral a little while ago and I had to take the blade out and smack it on the carpet quite a few times. If you hold the loose blade about 2/3 to 3/4 of the way down, it will vibrate a lot after you whack it good - do this a few times then switch ends and do it some more and it may pop right out.

Title: Re: can't seem to fix my blade Post by: ThreadJack on June 13, 2011, 05:56:47 PM I had a stubborn one last month. I just had to play with it for a while, but it'll come out eventually.
