Title: scorpion b.day gift for my bf Post by: bateu47 on August 16, 2013, 06:05:32 AM got my bf's b.day comin up the 21st of this month; figured I'd get him an ultrasaber
just gonna list one pro and one con pro: even with all the glamour that makes up the saber it handles as beautifully as they come! con: the emitter can't screw down flush with the claw on so it makes a clink sound where the claw taps the sides of the slot it fits into on the hilt/sleeve despite that and having to choose between having the emitter flush or the claw on I think he's gonna love it but if not that's what store credit is for Title: Re: scorpion b.day gift for my bf Post by: Prowl 1701 on August 16, 2013, 06:27:59 AM The scorpion is an awesome saber, I have one myself. It's a heavy one, hope his is a larger guy. Personally I think it makes a great Sith blade. What color did you get the blade in? Which blade type did you get?

ultraedge heavygrade Title: Re: scorpion b.day gift for my bf Post by: Zren Tobas on August 16, 2013, 07:49:58 AM Nice. This will be one unique Scorpion. Can't wait to see it. Never thought to see one in green.
Title: Re: scorpion b.day gift for my bf Post by: Deep on August 16, 2013, 03:29:18 PM The covertec wheel holds the shroud in place not the emitter. Tighten it with a 9/64 hex (allen) wrench. A LOT. Clanking go bye-bye.

Same here, never seen one in CG before. I'd like to see pics of that! Title: Re: scorpion b.day gift for my bf Post by: GrumpyBadger on August 16, 2013, 08:18:27 PM I just gotta say how awesome it is as a SW nut when the Lady supports our hobbies. I think that's awesome.
I've debated a Scorpion for a Jedi lightsaber as well. Just because it looks "Sith" to begin with, doesn't mean it has to all the time. The scorpion is beyond cool in that it is so adaptable. here's a video by Plageuis: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Te30scUSXmA# (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Te30scUSXmA#) it really shows how modifiable that lightsaber is. It's so purdy it is a heavy one, so just a head's up. But if he's not used to the plastic lightsabers, or if he's used to a real sword, he'll love it. The length too is really nice i think. She's a perfect two-handed great weapon. and as for pics and vids;since it isn't actually my sabre to showcase I'll leave that up to my best friend for when and if he joins the forum but if anyone wants to see my arctic blue arbiter I'll post some pics of that Title: Re: scorpion b.day gift for my bf Post by: Prowl 1701 on August 17, 2013, 04:09:54 AM guess I should be more careful with my acronyms by BF I meant best friend; I'm actually a guy and as for pics and vids;since it isn't actually my sabre to showcase I'll leave that up to my best friend for when and if he joins the forum but if anyone wants to see my arctic blue arbiter I'll post some pics of that I'd love to see some pics of that AB Arbiter! Title: Re: scorpion b.day gift for my bf Post by: Prowl 1701 on August 20, 2013, 09:26:44 PM The covertec wheel holds the shroud in place not the emitter. Tighten it with a 9/64 hex (allen) wrench. A LOT. Clanking go bye-bye. Tried that, stupid wheel fell off and won't screw back on at all now. I've tried several times and it will not screw back in. What kind of glue can I buy that will adhere to metal and hold it in place? And of course my shroud is even more loose now. :( Title: Re: scorpion b.day gift for my bf Post by: Prowl 1701 on August 21, 2013, 04:13:27 AM Tried that, stupid wheel fell off and won't screw back on at all now. And of course my shroud is even more loose now. :( Actually it's not that bad, the shroud isn't that much looser than before and with the sound on I can't even hear the clanking noise (love that nice loud obsidian soundboard!) I feel it a little, but it's not bothersome much, and being a smaller person I don't swing it in the yard as much as my lighter sabers (ask Molina, he's seen my vids, he can tell you that I'm much slower using my Scorpion), I have it more for looks and decoration and it looks fine without the wheel on I've noticed, I suppose I wish I could fix it but I'm not overly bothered about it. It's my own fault anyway, I tried to tighten the screw on the wheel too much and striped the threads in the hilt body I think.
