Title: Saber Blade Tips Post by: BAMBAM3892 on June 19, 2011, 04:16:12 PM Over the past year I have bought 5 Ultra sabers, and i plan on buying more (because they are awesome) but i have encountered a problem. When me and my friends are duelling i find that the tips keep coming off, we do not clash the sabres to hard for obvious reasons but this problem keeps occurring i was wondering if anyone else has encountered this problem and if they have any good solutions on solving it. When it happens i superglue it back on but it keeps happening its kind of a quick fix solution, any help would be fantastic, Thanks The Lancashire Lightsaber Duelling squad U.K. :)
Title: Re: Saber Blade Tips Post by: Big Boss on June 19, 2011, 04:30:03 PM yeah this happens from time to time use clear gorilla glue for your blade tips you can buy it at walmart in the hardware section or find some online http://www.gorillaglue.com/information/where-to-buy.aspx (http://www.gorillaglue.com/information/where-to-buy.aspx)
Title: Re: Saber Blade Tips Post by: SILVERBACK on June 19, 2011, 04:31:07 PM try gorilla brand super glue. i have removed the tips of my sabers to trim the reflective disk and i used the gorilla super glue to put them back on. the tips have yet to come off.
Title: Re: Saber Blade Tips Post by: GdFuzz on June 19, 2011, 04:46:31 PM Being a long time dueler myself, I've learned a simple yet effective trick... Use clear masking tape on the end of your blade, wrapped around the tip... It won't look pretty up close, but there will be less of a chance of getting a "tip ejection"... Unfort, if you duel with your sabers, this WILL happen...
Title: Re: Saber Blade Tips Post by: ThreadJack on June 19, 2011, 05:27:45 PM I recommend the Gorilla Super Glue as well. Your tip will come off again eventually, but it will be quite a while.

Title: Re: Saber Blade Tips Post by: Maslac on June 19, 2011, 10:48:14 PM Someone mentiones that could happen cuz of the air pressure building up in your blade when you smash it against something (it bends and compresses the air inside the blade) and couses the tip to pop off. One "simple" solution would be to drill a tiny hole in your blade tip from the top. I know the pointed tips have the refplective thingie in them so this would be a bad idea (or not), but i think the normal (round) ones dont use the reflective thingie (i could be wrong) and therefore no damage done.
Again, this is not confirmed couse of the poping tips, just an idea :) Title: Re: Saber Blade Tips Post by: SILVERBACK on June 20, 2011, 01:05:11 AM the round tips do have the reflective disk. i trim the disks so the color of the blade goes into the tip.
Title: Re: Saber Blade Tips Post by: Darth Wraith on June 20, 2011, 01:40:31 AM Yeah, the others are right, this happens to all of us, not a lot you can do about it :-\.............. Not Ultra's fault, some people like to take the tip off their blades to mess around with different options, and we couldn't do that if they were pre-supper glued on.... Try not to duel in any grassy areas, instead try to find a nice black top, or INSIDE would be preferable, because when the tips fly off into no where land, you'll be able to find them a lot to easier ;)!!!!!!!!!!
To Quote Star Wars A Lost Hope On You Tube ;): "You Swing To HARD!!!!! Ass.... I Swear!!!!!!" lmao!!!!!!!!! ;D Title: Re: Saber Blade Tips Post by: Master Nero Attoru on June 20, 2011, 12:30:39 PM Yeah I mean it sounds like you're dueling quite a bit - my personal suggestion is to go for the heavy grade blades. The tips tend to stay on those, plus they're very durable. Considering the kind of dueling you're talking about, it might be something to look into.
Btw I'm jealous because if you're knocking tips off like that it means you're probably dueling a LOT and having a ton of fun doing so. Me too!! I don't have ANYONE to duel with!! :( Title: Re: Saber Blade Tips Post by: BAMBAM3892 on June 21, 2011, 05:50:17 PM Yet again thanks for all the suggestions and i will try them all, and yes i duel at least 2 times a week there are four of us at the min but. there are many people interested.

Me too :'( Title: Re: Saber Blade Tips Post by: Jodaan on June 21, 2011, 09:42:53 PM I you want more friend to duel with, buy them Ultrasabers for their birthdays.
I'm making a HUUUUUUUGE (no, not enough...) HUUUUGE order. Let say that I'm making their next 2-3 birthdays. 1000 bucks of sabers. I know, I'm mad. Really mad, but they do count a lot for me and I was looking for a way to thank them for all that they have done for me. No more than 9 sabers. I sense that soon I will have a bunch of people coming by to be friend ;D Title: Re: Saber Blade Tips Post by: Maslac on June 28, 2011, 09:13:33 AM I would love to pay you a visit my friend, specialy with the French Starwas Celebration (or whatever it's called) going on this month...
But like you, i made a huge order (3/4 of your vlue :D ) and im kinda broke, and the time is allso an issue. But i would love to meet up at a con-fest or something :D Title: Re: Saber Blade Tips Post by: Jodaan on June 28, 2011, 11:24:18 PM In fact, due to personal issues that are no more issues but still personal (girlfriend not agree, then for some other reason, girlfriend NINJA VANISH -> Tribute to Novastar <- so yeah, back to single, but I can take all the sabers I want now), I had to split the order.
By the way, I will try to get lucky with the Bag-O-Sabers. Maybe I'll get an outstanding hilt (hey, speaking of US, they are by definition outstanding). So yeah, the Tribute to my Friends buying fever is near complete. I'm lucky/unthinking enough to actually make these order.
