Title: SW:TOR Galactic Starfighter Post by: Zephon on October 09, 2013, 11:10:04 AM If no one is aware yet, SW:TOR released some information on a new game update with an accompanying teaser video. Galactic Starfighters (http://www.swtor.com/galactic-starfighter?utm_campaign=sor-social-us-eas-fb-galacticstarfighter&utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&sourceid=sor-social-us-eas-fb-galacticstarfighter)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iWlLvDzmXAI# (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iWlLvDzmXAI#) Personally, I'm looking forward to being able to fly my ship around into some dogfights. It's about time we can take down the Imps in flight as well as planetside. ;) Title: Re: SW:TOR Galactic Starfighter Post by: Darth Kitsune on October 09, 2013, 12:14:00 PM I'm looking forward to this. I do like already existing Space-Missions thing, but at the same time it was a bit too preset in my opinion. It just was underworked and didn't have that flare of a Star Wars space battle. Also, I like the ability to choose from a variety of era-based ships and customize them that actually changes how they look or behave in some way.
I hope they add a ton of new stuff after they implement this update as well. I'd love to see a huge variety of Republic and Empire ships to choose from. And maybe a sub-guild system to set up squadrons and whatnot. Title: Re: SW:TOR Galactic Starfighter Post by: Master Lucien Kane on October 09, 2013, 02:33:28 PM Oooh I like it!
Title: Re: SW:TOR Galactic Starfighter Post by: Oramac on October 09, 2013, 04:25:02 PM Can't see the trailer at work, but I love the idea! I, too, liked the previous space battles, but they did feel like more of a fluff thing than an actual story component. The free flight battles will be awesome.
My only gripe is that I can't take my characters personal starship into the battle. But I can get over that. I wonder if they'll support joysticks? Title: Re: SW:TOR Galactic Starfighter Post by: Krace on October 09, 2013, 05:32:04 PM I'm not a big PvP fan, but I am looking forward to this for some more fun with space combat. I hope they really get into detail with being able to customize your ship as far as design and weapons loadout.
Title: Re: SW:TOR Galactic Starfighter Post by: Oramac on October 09, 2013, 05:47:59 PM It also occurs to me to wonder if this isn't partially EA's response to Star Citizen (http://robertsspaceindustries.com). Setting up to be the first fully crowd funded AAA game, and a space sim that's guaranteed to take players away from SWTOR.

Title: Re: SW:TOR Galactic Starfighter Post by: Genkaku Sho`shyk on October 13, 2013, 04:25:47 PM no it cant be for rouge squadron.. if it is ill be very disappointed, as i dont want to play a different game to play star wars in real space battle in pvp... thats NOT on a rali system... i want to play star wars.. and live the experience... in one game... not in 7 different games...... they are so stupid to make so many games that segment the full theme..... what if i wanna trade spice from planet to planet, for the best prices.... and have to run from other players that are trying to stop spice runners.... but still have all my tuff from ground battles, and what not....
instead, i would have t log out, quite this game, open that game.. log in there....... SOOOO ANNOYING!........ this is all my ranting and raving, but im pretty sure i speak for most when i say, stop making bits and pieces of games, and just put them all together in one big game... use up less server room... and keep better watch over the game cause you have ore people to watch one big game, then you do trying to watch 10 little games with server pop of 10k each..... I know it isn't Star Wars, but you just described Star Citizen (http://www.robertsspaceindustries.com) to a T. I mean, almost literally took the words out of Chris Roberts' mouth. Not trying to overly harp on a different game, but what you said above is exactly what they're working to make. Or a space sector... BOTH, dont make multiple games to cover ground and space... Make one big game... If eve inline had force and ground/ship fights... It would be a no brIner... But dag nabit!! Eve is just not tar wars... And half the star wars games are money mongering half broken junk piles that have a spiffy cinematic at the start... And more bugs then hullet pest control could handle in its entire existence... Its just sad... Games used to be complete when you bought them for 50$ now we buy games for near 70$ and they are not even completed....
Im losing faith in gaming industries.... Its just all about the money... No real shell quality any more... It's also not being made by any publisher, but the people making it are pushing for immersion, fun and quality above all else. They just today released a "commercial" for one of the ships that's rendered in-engine using high-poly models at 4K resolution. That kind of graphics is unheard of, even in PC gaming, and it'd make your average XBOX explode. In any case, SWTOR Starfighter looks like a good x-pac. Hopefully it'll support a joystick instead of keyboard/mouse. Title: Re: SW:TOR Galactic Starfighter Post by: B1ondeange1 on October 23, 2013, 07:36:43 AM Never played it... But truthfully... We were so excited when we found out they were gonna have walking around the stations, on ground action etc. And then dust 514 is a different game just same universe, and only playstation. That sucked imo. now, back to on topic :) |
