Title: Homemade Jawa Blaster Post by: Darinus on November 22, 2013, 11:58:40 AM Here's my wife's Jawa blaster that I made her.
I used an SKS stock that I got for free and chopped it down, PVC pipe and a handful of different PVC adapters/fittings, a funnel, broke a channel lock wrench and used part for the trigger, stripped an ugly LED flashlight body, and a couple of other greeblies here and there. It lights up via a pressure pad-activated tactical flashlight equipped with a dark blue Lee filter. Overall it was less than $20 (already had the flashlight) Prior to weathering: (http://i927.photobucket.com/albums/ad114/Darinus_6/Mobile%20Uploads/image_zpsee81456a.jpg) (http://s927.photobucket.com/user/Darinus_6/media/Mobile%20Uploads/image_zpsee81456a.jpg.html) Final: (http://i927.photobucket.com/albums/ad114/Darinus_6/Mobile%20Uploads/image_zps191ba690.jpg) (http://s927.photobucket.com/user/Darinus_6/media/Mobile%20Uploads/image_zps191ba690.jpg.html) Here's my wife and I in our finished costumes: (http://i927.photobucket.com/albums/ad114/Darinus_6/Mobile%20Uploads/image_zps4cad0fa8.jpg) (http://s927.photobucket.com/user/Darinus_6/media/Mobile%20Uploads/image_zps4cad0fa8.jpg.html) Title: Re: Homemade Jawa Blaster Post by: srams on November 22, 2013, 12:47:59 PM That's amazing! I love to see these built from scratch blasters, and yet this looks almost dead on. Great work! Both of your costumes look great too!
Title: Re: Homemade Jawa Blaster Post by: Darinus on November 22, 2013, 01:48:01 PM Thanks! I made the gun for her and helped with the pouches, she made the rest. All pretty cheap, too.
I ordered my Jedi outfit from an Amazon seller Showtimecosplay. It was about $130ish(?) and I don't feel ripped off but it isn't exactly amazing. The collar in that pic looks terrible because I didn't iron it and the robe's hood is awful. Otherwise it isn't bad. She's reworking hers as a Sith Jawa and I'm going back to the drawing board with mine. I really don't like the idea of it being purchased and I'd like it to be less 'generic'. Very well executed ! Title: Re: Homemade Jawa Blaster Post by: Darinus on November 23, 2013, 01:19:46 AM Going out on a limb but this is probably one of the best accessories I have seen on this site. Very well executed ! That means a lot to me, thanks! I didn't expect much positive feedback since I've seen tons of amazing work that others have done. I'm trying to get a foam wig head tomorrow to put the mask/hood on display with the gun. I'll throw a pic on here if I get the chance tomorrow. Title: Re: Homemade Jawa Blaster Post by: chicago.jedi on November 23, 2013, 03:44:57 AM That looks awesome. Definitely something a Jawa would cobble together.
Point awarded....I wish I could give you two or three. Title: Re: Homemade Jawa Blaster Post by: Darth Kitsune on November 23, 2013, 06:21:53 AM That's pretty close. You'll be disabling droids....and bodies....in no time flat with that kind of blunderbuss.

Title: Re: Homemade Jawa Blaster Post by: Darinus on November 25, 2013, 02:13:05 AM Thanks, once more.
I haven't gotten around to displaying the mask and gun yet Title: Re: Homemade Jawa Blaster Post by: Darinus on November 27, 2013, 09:04:33 PM Here's it's current resting place in our living room.

My sabers and any other SW props will likely go with this, the shelf under will have my hardcover books, blu-ray set and Sideshow statues. Title: Re: Homemade Jawa Blaster Post by: Darinus on December 03, 2013, 03:17:06 AM ootini?!? Utinni! She plans on adding a voice amp/modulator on the next iteration of her Jawa, couldn't hear anything she said under that mask. |
