Title: Color Disc, red
Post by: AerykGunn on June 30, 2011, 03:30:16 AM
Okay so I recently got my dark initiate v2 with a red blade. Well I am partially colorblind and to me it looked kinda orange, even after new batteries, so I asked and I was told it is DEFINITELY red... but it just.. doesn't look like the blood red I was expecting.. Can I get like a red color disc to remedy this? Make it darker? Will it lose brightness if I use a red color disc? is there another way to make it a red color? I am very happy with the saber and stuff, and don't mind the color so much but seriously it looks orange to me... and.. I want crimson red :) should I have asked for that in the details section? lol

AerykGunn,
K'oyacyi!

if you use a color disk, it will make the blade dimmer. maybe you can pm ultra and ask him about possibly changing the color for you making it the blood red you want. beleive me when i say the blazing red is deffinitely red whether you use the mid grade or ultraedge blade. even if you send it in to have the color tweeked a bit, it will most likely still look like a dark orange due to your color blindness.

Yeah personally I have a red dominix v2 and it's quite red... although I was considering using a color disk as well!  Just to achieve that really deep blood red color.  I'll let you know if I try it.

About your color, the only thought I have is that every LED is different, maybe yours has more of an orange look to it?  Idk.  If you want I can post a pic of my Dominix on here so you can compare.

I see hmm.. thanks! I'd appreciate that Nero. And it's only PARTIALLY colorblindness. It just means I can't distinguish between some colors... like dark blue and purple, or dark purple or black, or light green and yellow and stuff. but yeah... Let me know what you figure nero. :)

Here's a pic of my red dominix v2.  In the picture it does look a tad orange, although in real life it's quite red.

Figured it could help with the comparison.

yeah I think mine sorta looks like that. I believe them when they say it's red it just has an orangeish hue to it.

I can assure that Blazing Red is truly a great red. The orangish color is because your camera saturate with the red. Try to imagine that your camera gets in face the light in a "long time" (long because 1/100 s of exposition compared to light speed ;) ). Imagine your doing some painting and that you put red over red over red during 1 hour. It rip your paper. It's quite the same thing for the camera => "Too much red, too much light, I will dim everything." Kind of a survival act ;)

When on, the saber taint quite all my room in red. It is truly one of the brightest colors available.

Might also be because I have an initiate blade but I dunno. It looks orangeish in PERSON is what i'm saying I have a red blade. But yeah. I'm fine with it :)
