Title: Custom Shock LE Build Log Post by: Relan Tarel jedi kinght on February 06, 2014, 06:36:00 PM Today I began the rebuild of my shock le after filnly getting all my parts in. Before I begin actually getting down to the real busness at hand(adding the actavation box courtesy of The Ultrasabers staff, an orange iluminated av switch, obsidian sound bord, speaker. An mhs emitter and an msh pomel with a d-ring insert.
But my first step was to so some experimental sodering. So I played around with my Sentinel yellow MLS unit and..... we get cyan In UEHG (http://i875.photobucket.com/albums/ab316/christophermcleroy82/IMG_20140206_125642_zpsb0f4b96a.jpg) (http://s875.photobucket.com/user/christophermcleroy82/media/IMG_20140206_125642_zpsb0f4b96a.jpg.html) And HG (http://i875.photobucket.com/albums/ab316/christophermcleroy82/IMG_20140206_125622_zpsd540acc3.jpg) (http://s875.photobucket.com/user/christophermcleroy82/media/IMG_20140206_125622_zpsd540acc3.jpg.html) I will continue to updade this thread as I progress. And if any one would like to help coments and sudgestions are appreaciated. Also an up to date wireing diagram would be helpfull. Thanks for looking Title: Re: shock le custom build Post by: Xaeyon on February 06, 2014, 08:06:15 PM So far so good :) Cyan is a good look for a saber blade

Title: Re: shock le custom build Post by: Relan Tarel jedi kinght on February 08, 2014, 06:52:39 PM Blade retention screw hole drilled and tapped. Its a good thing that this was the last hole I needed to tap of this size cuz I broke the stinking bit on its way out of the hole needless to say there where a few choice words. But any way. A word from the wisened theese mhs blade holders are a bit snug for the ultrasabers blades not a bad thing judt remember to take a little bit of 120 grit sand papper on the inside after drilling and tapping the hole to remove any burrs.(http://i875.photobucket.com/albums/ab316/christophermcleroy82/IMG_20140208_134041_zps90f9c0bd.jpg) (http://s875.photobucket.com/user/christophermcleroy82/media/IMG_20140208_134041_zps90f9c0bd.jpg.html)

Great looking hilt so far.
Title: Re: Custom Shock LE Build Log Post by: Relan Tarel jedi kinght on February 12, 2014, 12:42:36 AM Todays update dosnt have pics as I wasn't feeling well and not able to get any real work done on this project. Although I double check my wiring "road map" and had to make a cohple small changes to include jts conecters. Further refined my chassis set-up and a decoratave actavation box spacer as it doesn't fit exactly as flush as I would like ( probly my own fault) I may or may not use it in the end product the gap isn't really that noticable.
Again thank you all for the support and keeping up with my build Title: Re: Custom Shock LE Build Log Post by: Genkaku Sho`shyk on February 12, 2014, 02:58:28 AM right on man!!

how about a video review? Title: Re: Custom Shock LE Build Log Post by: Relan Tarel jedi kinght on February 12, 2014, 01:27:55 PM Maby at some point idont know how to upload to youtube all I have is my phone.
Title: Re: Custom Shock LE Build Log Post by: Xaeyon on February 12, 2014, 02:22:46 PM Just take the video on your phone and you can upload it directly to YT, or you can put the files on your computer, edit them then upload it. Not sure how much post-upload-editing you can do, but using Windows Movie Maker or iMovie you can cut and paste the bits together as you wish. Hope that helps :)

I love the Aurabesh font that you added to the hilt. I think it helps add to the aesthetic quality of the saber. I had considered doing the same thing to mine but decided against it due to technical reasons.
I also like how you went with an Amber/Yellow blade. I think that color suits the saber perfectly, rather than a blue or green or some other color. Basically, it adds to the color scheme of the saber positively. Title: Re: Custom Shock LE Build Log Post by: Darth_Phobius47 on February 12, 2014, 08:36:51 PM This turned out REALLY nice. "Smerks and nods his head" oh yah that. Its actually the core of a brushless motor ( a brushless motor is one where the magnets spin around the core rather than the core spinning inside the magnets for a brushed motor)that had broke a while back abd had laying around. I still need some blade material or thin plastic tube inorder ot make it a complete blade plug so it would sit where I want it . I wanted to soder the aluminum spinner that held the prop to the motor but I couldn't get the soder to bond with the aluminum so I just made sortof a puddle and capped the hole in the center Title: Re: Custom Shock LE Build Log Post by: srams on February 13, 2014, 06:45:02 AM Ah yes I'm familiar with the brushless motor, I sell power tools. What's this one out of?

You just have to shake your head and laugh with wonderment for the ingenuity of this community on customizations. Title: Re: Custom Shock LE Build Log Post by: Genkaku Sho`shyk on February 13, 2014, 09:55:19 AM another nice part added to the hilt

I will go over them again eventually as soon as I can find the right kind of paint that will stick and a thinner paint brush ( payday is around the corner) but tanks Title: Re: Custom Shock LE Build Log Post by: Relan Tarel jedi kinght on February 13, 2014, 07:51:16 PM Ah yes I'm familiar with the brushless motor, I sell power tools. What's this one out of? the motor core blade plug was actually out of the motor of one of my model air planes I always keep the parts even after they have ceashed and unflyable or a part burns out like this one the conector s broke off ands beyond repaire. I've seen them used in componets for crystal chambers before so...it got Me thinking and what do you know it fits perfictly I've just got to find a plastic tube that is the same diamater as the blade (1") and has a wall thin enough to fit the motor core I've already have material that I can use as a defuser then I'll have a complete blade plug Title: Re: Custom Shock LE Build Log Post by: srams on February 13, 2014, 08:40:43 PM Nice! You never know what broken parts can be used for great things later!
Heres a thread I just made showing off a new blade plug I made, but its no where as interesting as yours. http://www.saberforum.com/index.php?topic=18542.0;topicseen (http://www.saberforum.com/index.php?topic=18542.0;topicseen) Title: Re: Custom Shock LE Build Log Post by: Relan Tarel jedi kinght on February 13, 2014, 09:43:12 PM Yup I saw that good use of materials. I always save the broken parts
