Title: Batteries to use and not use?
Post by: Xolad on February 07, 2014, 12:59:13 AM
I was just watching a saber review when I heard that the last saber the guy had, had its LED burn out cause he used the wrong batteries. This freaked me out. And I was just wondering are there specific batteries to use and specific ones not to use. And what types of batteries are used by the community. FYI I do have a standard set up on my saber. And also this could be a good little feed for anyone else that has the same question to look at

Personally, on my stunt sabers, I've been using some rechargeable NiMH AAAs that I got from Radio Shack... no problems so far.

If you have a saber with the Obsidian setup (sound), you must use Li-Ions.

For Standard Setup I would also use rechargeable NiMH AAA batteries.

I got 4 sabers with standard setups and they all have rechargeable Energizer NiMH batteries. No problems so far.

To add on to the ops question. Would it damage anything to use three 1.5v c-cells in a saber that started life with three AA cells? They will fit, just Don't know if it would change anything.
