Title: Phantom V2 size question
Post by: Wawa on January 07, 2011, 12:47:48 PM
What is the final length of a Phantom V2 staff with 36" blades?  I'd like to make a bo staff to practice with before my staff comes

Well, as a rough estimate: I ordered my phantom v2 with 24" blades, and it ends up being about 5'6". So, with 36" blades, adding about 1' on each end...around 7'6"?

Wow. Even with the small blades, that things as tall as me!

Yeah, I wanted something around my height or only a little taller. I'm 5'8", and the regular size Phantom V2 would have been close to 7' according to the research I'd done around the website and forums, adding things up, etc. I'm glad I got the shorter blades, it's just right for me this way. The initiate model would have been too short, but this feels about right, and the full size hilts have a good feel to them also.

I thought about getting a Phantom initiate cause I thought that would be proper length for me, but I think a regular V2 or Phantasm with initiate blades would work fine. I'm 5'7" so I think the full size staff would be WAY too much for me to handle. Not to mention an adult playing with a lightsaber looks ridiculous enough as it is!  :D

I got the phantom initiate v2 with 32'' blades  mainly for this hilt size, I plan to duel wield and the shorter hilt will fit perfectly in my hand

Ha, this sucker is gonna be massive...maybe i'll order some 24" blades too.  I'm only 6', this staff will be 1-2' taller than me.  Oh well, guess oversized saber staff is my new fighting style :D.  Although my favorite thing about the phantom is having two matching blades

I ordered the Phantasm, which is pretty much the same thing, with the 36" blades, and I can say first hand that it is a big one when coupled together. I stand at 6'5" and it is still a little much for me. However, I purchased it to have two sabers, rather than one staff, and I am very happy with them, I might add.

EDIT: Yeah, I just measured it and it is 91" overall, so 7'6" is accurate.

I did the same thing, Buy the staff for the 2 sabers, I got 32'' blades and they seem life for duel wielding, im currently trying to get my friend into buying one so we can start dueling

Same here, except with a few co-workers... a.k.a. the guys who I am trying to start up a Lightsaber Enthusiast group with.
I will say that I have taken my own in to work a few times and we have dueled in the parking lot in an attempt to bring in some customers when it has been slow.

I will not say, only that we can get away with it because one of said co-workers is a crew leader (a.k.a. shift manager). Also I did kind of mention lightsaber duels to the store manager as a way to draw in customers during slow times. She laughed and said it was a great idea, but I am not really sure whether or not she was being serious... either way, I have never brought them when I have had to work with her...

That's crazy long lol.  I'll stick with 24" blades on my staff (even though it looks funny, it wields much better for me).

To me the Phantom Initiate with 32" blades would be better. Probably would be about the same size, but you'd have more blade.

Can you get a staff initiate with 32" and RGB?
