Title: Customized Regular Mid Grade Blade Finally To My Liking
Post by: Zren Tobas on April 23, 2014, 09:39:05 PM
So I wanted to try this sanding thing you guys sometimes do to blades but I wanted to experiment on a Mid Grade blade first and I think it came out pretty good for a first try. Tell me what you guys think. I used 500 grit sandpaper to sand my blade. Took me awhile to get to my liking though. Now the blade definitely looks better for pics. I do notice though in person when you sand blades they become somewhat dim but not too bad. Any thoughts on this? If you think I should sand a bit more let me know and how much more. =]

Finished blade. Still has a slight shine to it:

Lit up. The core is wider:

Bottom of the blade has more of a flare now:

And close up. Looks nice and even to me:

Was it an ultraedge midgrade or the standard midgrade?

Just standard Mid Grade. This was just an experiment really. I probably wont do it again.
