Title: Colored O-rings? Post by: Darth Decimus on May 19, 2014, 05:42:57 PM I have seen many people add O-rings to their hilts in order to approve looks as well as grip , but all i have ever seen are black ones .I am aware you can use hi quality paints to paint the grooves in, but that doesn't address the grip issue, just the cosmetic one.
So, just to throw it out there, has anyone ever seen/found a source for colored O-rings? I checked my very small town auto parts place and all they carry are black ones ,and the more i explained what i was wanting them for, the more eye-rolls i got from the counter help, to the point i just kinda stopped talking and lapsed into "Uhm, well, ah, i best be going " exit remark ::) Title: Re: Colored O-rings? Post by: sedstiskyfaller on May 19, 2014, 06:32:20 PM They are definitely not as common, nor as available as black O-rings. You can find them on amazon, but the size selection is not as wide when you're looking for the colored ones either. I have seen some people paint them using a special paint that adheres to rubber and such, so that is also an option.

I saw tons of websites that have them. However size could be an issue. I use Danco #18's (black of course) which are 15/16" inside diameter, 1-3/16 outside diameter. These fit perfectly on the MHS size hilts like the Initiate. I also used some thinner ones, Danco #17's with a 7/8" inside and 1-1/16" outside. I used 18's in the grooves and 17's in between to make a cool pattern. Title: Re: Colored O-rings? Post by: Tal-Rin Onjo on May 19, 2014, 09:11:28 PM I tried painting O-rings for my Dominix, and it didn't end well for me. Others have had succeess though. Took a second, but I found a thread that might help.
