Ok so like the title says I tend to hide my nerd because it isn't a good first impression or because of the preconceived ideas of nerds. So I am looking for something to wear over my face that doesn't look sith but rather jedi but will still hide my identidy. I don't want an Alien mask either, so if you have seen anything that looks cool and doesn't look evil I would really appreciate it. If I get it, I will be sure to post a pic myself in costume.

(The main point of this is so I can go to conventions and stuff)

I like the silver mask from the top link, but I would probably repaint it a different color when I bought it. Like White and blue.

same, id probably just do touches of red or blue but keep the inital colors the same

I am thinking about getting a paint ball mask and repainting it. The have a lot of cool designs that would work if they were a different color.

I think we are all a little in the closet nerds that's why I can't wait for Jedi-con so I can unleash my nerd  ;) those look cool almost like Jedi sentinels

I've found that the older i get (i'm 32 now), the less of a F*&% i give about what people think when they see me in costume... yes, my sith costume has a mask, but that was a sith character i created and loved the idea of a mask myself, but not to hind my identity.  There's loads of pictures on facebook now for the world to see of me in my costume with my full face shown in all it's balding glory.  I understand exactly where you're coming from, but when it comes down to it, wouldn't you only want to surround yourself with the people who except you for who you are ANYWAY?  :o)  Anyone who gives you a hard time for being passionate about something doesn't deserve your friendship and should be told to promptly pi$$ off.  My two cents.  Either way, masks are still bada$$.  Darth Scorpious, yours gets my vote for favorite mask i've seen on here.  puts mine to shame.  Cheers guys.

 I do agree I'm 33 and doing my first cosplay and don't really care what people think I'm taking a bit stick about it from work mates but I do think its a little easier for you my American brethren as cosplay isn't as widely done over here so looked on as sad and weird.

I'm 26 going on 27 and still enjoy costuming, well, with the first real Jedi costume I started out with anyway. Never getting out of sabers either. :P So yeah keep doing what you enjoy and don't worry about how old you get. I'll be 50 and probably still costume and have tons more sabers by then too. Lol. I'm actually planning a new first custom Sith costume so yeah. Can't wait to see what mask you get dude.

i know you are not interested really in an alien mask, however i purchased one, check out the pics i put on this thread. it might change your mind.

the mask is not cheap though, but it is worth it. it has kind of payed for itself in a way too.

Could you PM me with were you got it and if you don't mind roughly not the exact cost I understand if you don't want to disclose cost :)

Arguably, if you wanted to attend an event that encourages costumes, other like-minded folk would be there as well and you wouldn't suffer any judgement, in fact you'd be celebrated!  Wearing a mask is a lot of fun, but don't be afraid to own your nerdiness!

Besides, these days girls dig geeks!  ;)  (boys too, if that's your preference)

The guy in the Joker costume really looks like the joker. That is scary how good his costume is.

that is Anthony Misiano and his better half Alyssa King a.k.a Harleys joker and Jokers Harley. Hes a movie producer and photographer from SD but they moved to NY last year. Great people.
