Title: upcomming collaboration!
Post by: Genkaku Sho`shyk on March 04, 2015, 10:09:53 AM
that's right folks, the crazy hermit is at it again!!

i have been working on a project by myself for some time, and decided it need to have something extra added to it.. so i contacted another forum member and have asked them to assist me in this most amazing project!!

i am not going to talk much bout what it is yet.. as it is... EPIC!  and will possibly bring many people to giddy outbursts of childish glee!

what i can say, is that it is going to make things A LOT easier, and far more simplified for almost ANY person to manage, care for, and enjoy their sabers that much more....

i know, i have not said much, and some of you may go crazy, , insane, or down right delirious trying to figure out what i and the other member have been working on together...

until i have more complete information to show/bring to the forums, ill let your brains wonder around.. but its up to you to not let them wonder to far, they need a body to survive... and a brain is a terrible thing to lose.

ok folks.. this is what i have been waiting to arrive... and it was a collaboration between myself and the 3D artist  "sedstiskyfaller"

(http://i1267.photobucket.com/albums/jj544/simpledan429/Mobile%20Uploads/image_zps0upoympj.jpg) (http://s1267.photobucket.com/user/simpledan429/media/Mobile%20Uploads/image_zps0upoympj.jpg.html)

now, the fun part....  to install the parts i also ordered a few months ago in prep for this project...  - speaker, batteries, RGBW, LED driver, and Obsidian.

(http://i1267.photobucket.com/albums/jj544/simpledan429/ultra%20saber%20pics%20and%20videos/image_zps1urfgvxx.jpg) (http://s1267.photobucket.com/user/simpledan429/media/ultra%20saber%20pics%20and%20videos/image_zps1urfgvxx.jpg.html)

once done, it going to go into my friends Great-saber im making from a yari extension..  ( switch and RGBW will be separate from the module unit as they will be far from the chassis, )

the chassis itself was created with the sole purpose of protecting the internal parts from bumping around .. and to make an already amazing quality product!

i hope your ll as stoked as i am to finally be in the last leg of this project, i know i kept you all in the dark about it, but here it is, in all its Glory

This really is a great idea, and that goes for DIYers too, a cage of set specifications means there's only ever one stipulation to lightsaber design; so long as it fits, go ahead!

the biggest problem i've ever found is solder joints can get weakened over time, and this endoskeleton should help with that too, so points to you sir, for an excellent innovation!

 No ashens reference intended.

You REALLY don't want me to tell you what it looks like to me..... but if I wanted to you to tell me... you would..... (flashback now over... returning you to your already scheduled insanity...)

wait what?? lmao!!  im sure your gonna say it looks like a set of parts for a full internal lightsaber module chassis...   but i also could be wrong lmao

its pretty stable.. , a little thin on the "wires" running up the shaft, but its more then stable to hold the components in place and keep them from bouncing around.. , doing a little trimming work on the speaker box location , its a bit longer then needed, but its the prototype, so some fine calibrations and it will be set.. stronger then most might think too..
