Title: Double Bladed Emerald Menace Staff w / sound (both sides) Post by: Indignatio on March 20, 2015, 11:02:50 PM So today my B-day present to myself arrived right on time for my B-day!!! Here is my Double bladed Menace emerald staff w / sound! I went with black accent emitters with windows. I just about passed out when I opened up the box! This thing is SO awesome.
First I must say the hilt is beautiful on these sabers! Machining is very nice and the finish is awesome this is the SE finish. I'm in love with this saber staff! I added some neoprene o-ring to the hilts. (http://s12.postimg.org/791se9vul/Menace_1.jpg) (http://s4.postimg.org/tiibph525/Menace_2.jpg) I decided to go with 36" blades since I'm 6'3" and wanted something menacing and didn't look like a toy. I also went with the standard heavy blades since I want to use it and not let it be just a wall trophy. (http://s30.postimg.org/5cgjvwlnl/Menace_3.jpg) Lets see it lit up.... The color looks a little off in the pictures since I set the blades to flicker high .02 R255 to Low .02 R255 W30 G40... this looks so damn awesome in person. I will try to get a good video of it soon. I will not order anything less than an emerald driver saber on all future sabers, since the flicker adds so much realism. If you are looking for an high quality DM saber... this is it folks. The package weight was 6lbs but that included the free initiate saber. I still have yet to take time to play around with this.... but its interesting since I didn't request an Obsidian upgrade... I quickly tried to alter the default sound fonts... but the old launcher wouldn't let me.. I will have to experiment with this soon. If they gave me v4 boards I feel obligated to do a detailed review. Its nice and loud... the only thing is it needs adjustment so the swings are a little more sensitive.. Also is the new launcher compatable with the older obsidian cards? I'm going to test some wav sound fonts from the site where you can download them for like 5 bucks each. You should be able to find the V4 launcher under the Obsidian Order in the forums.
I've purchased some sound fonts from "the other guys" site and they work great on the Obsidian you'll love it. Incredible Menace staff, congrats!
