PS - Alright, my title is updated and I'm no longer an "Apprentice " or anything!  I actually feel like a real member of the forum now.   ;)

Was lucky enough to win a 4th prize, Grab Bag saber, my first grab bag, and it is a very cool Dark Prophecy v3 with a Guardian Blue ultraedge blade - so happy to have won anything, but completely blown away by the quality of this prize  ;D

My order was for the Consular hilt with nickel shroud, emerald & obsidian, red A/V switch and I got it configured to Consular Green with Dark Violet Amethyst FoC. (And a 32" blade, the 36" is just too long to be comfortable at my 5'10")

Nice Sabers!  I almost got a Dark Prophecy Stunt for myself in my last order - but went with a v4 Dominix instead.  (Needed to keep it as close to,$250 as possible for that one.)

Alight - the brightness of the silver blade made it really hard to get detailed pictures without natural light.

The LE and plain Aeons. The gold highlighting on my LE isn't especially shiny. I wonder if polish would help, or if it's just one those hilts that it doesn't really take on?

I'm very pleased with the plain Aeon. Clean and crisp lines, and pared almost to the bone with no superfluous detail. I prefer the appearance of the v2 line to the v3s.


The Aeons - I would have got the same shot for both Sentinels, but just one of them switched on made our youngest wake up. Both at the same time... Not a good idea.

Wow cstoehr.  You did well with another Scorpion.  This Scorpion looks awesome and the color combos are really nice.   Congrats.  Love that Crimson Menace with Bane's Heart.  Going to the top of my future saber list perhaps with Emerald and definitely sound.   Will await a more detailed review.  :o

Thanks Dauntless.  If I really feel Sithy sometime I can now make a double Scorpion staff!  One Scorpion alone is a heavy saber.  Two of them coupled together as a staff will undoubtedly be a beast.  I haven't forgotten about your questions regarding the Menace on the other post.  I'll try to do a review of the two Menaces as soon as I can.  Unfortunately this weekend's schedule is starting to get really busy.  I may not be able to get to it this weekend.

Thanks for remembering.  Have a great weekend and post the reviews whenever the Force inspires you.  Also point given for pink blade.  :o

I think a Beast like a Scorpion Staff needs its own official name . . . maybe call it the Stinger or the Venom.

That first picture of the Scorpion is actually pretty good giving it was taken with a tablet. Looks almost professional quality camera really =] I say take pics with it anyway if it'd still turn out that good

You're Sentinel looks well put together.  I never realized the V2's were so long.





I'm pretty sure I like the Crimson Menace more than the Azure - looks pretty slick.  Point cstoehr for the first Crimson Menace I've seen.  Looking forward to more detailed pics of that lightsaber.  I like the choice of the silver blade holder on it, though I think a matching one in color would be interesting.

I'd like a blade holder / emitter option that provides larger windows.  I may try substituting an emitter from a Scorpion or Overlord.

It'd be nice if the Scorp emitter didn't have that flat spot milled for the claw.

Entry saber was a Sentinel LE V4 Emerald for my boyfriend as well as a 32' UE blade for my Initiate V2.

4th prize was the grab bag Dominix V3 in CG. Love the black and green combo. Bit too big for my hands, but my boyfriend is having a lot of fun duel wielding. I'll probably mod it out a bit.

Gotta say, I love the new sabers, but the UE blade I got for my Initiate is a bit meh. The brightness fade is no big deal but it comes back so strong at the tip, which gives the blade a very *ahem* phallic look to it. But I guess thats the price for UE. Might pick up a regular midgrade 32" blade in my next order, since my boyfriend and I are now totally addicted.... And looking at cosplaying Rey and Finn for the Ep7 premiere :D

That crimson scorpion looks fantastic in BH.  Great saber idea!

BlueBayou.  I  like your customization of the Initiate v2 which I call a Yoda sized saber.  What did you use to get those lovely blue rings ?  The Dominix v3 is a good two handed saber.  I started out with long sabers and am now going shorter.  You will get used to both.  Extra blades in standard and UE are handy.  MG weight will allow more light to shine through the blade.  Point for you.   :)

tomfoyle.  Nice photo.  Like the pink blade on that Crimson Scorpion.  You will have fun with the Emerald driver.  You didn't say if you wanted light or dark points so will start you off with a light side one.   :)

Going to get that engraved on the front of the hilt with LEXI and the back is going to read: From Grandpa Bob; my Dad actually passed away a year & a half ago, so - explaining this whole thing is a long story . . . but I'm very pleased with the saber and I expressed that to Emory today.

So yeah - here's my prize!!!

2-Channel Emerald (Red & Green) w/ Obsidian.

The cool thing about these Raffles - besides free sabers! - is that I probably would have never ordered any of the Crimson hilts, but now that I have one and have been staring at it (and staring, and staring, and . . .) - I love it!

It looks really great & obviously the R&G combo for a 2 channel was the best possible for this particular hilt (I think anyway).

I have a regular Scorpion in Guardian Blue, so now I have a Dark-side counterpoint to my more Light-side one in GB.

I'm actually considering using my rewards points toward a silver War Glaive emitter to use as a Pommel on this bad boy - make it a War Scorpion.   :)

And yes - a Staff will happen at some point.

IMO the Crimson Scorpion makes for one of the smoothest red hilt US makes, even though it's not on my wish list I love the look of it.




BlueBayou have a quick look down you're new blade and just double check that the foil inside didn't come loose and bunch somewhere in the middle.  It's happened to me and I've had to re-tighten it and re-glue it at the opening.

Thanks for the point! I am enjoying the emerald driver a lot. Been trying to create the perfect flicker effect, and I've got a bright white yellow FoC which looks great too! 😃

Its a UE blade, so no foil inside to tighten. I wonder if it is just the fact that is GB and just won't ever be as bright as other colors. The CG on my new Dominix is really bright by comparison.

Maybe I need better batteries?


Thank you. I was pondering getting a V3 instead. This V2 hilt is a tiny bit too small for me to two hand, but really only because the switch and covertec wheel get in the way. I'm 5'4" with pretty small hands. It's also softball season so I am very used to swinging a bat, with two hands touching and very little chocking up.
The Dominix v3 is way too big for me to comfortably wield. All the big sabers go to my 6 foot boyfriend who used to duel wield Dark Standard Issues until he got this new Sentinel.

As for the blue rings, they are just strips of blue faux leather I got at a hobby store. I cut them down to size and super glued them into place. They've held up well to use so far.

Now to figure out the best way to etch the dark hilts with oven cleaner.....

 This honestly sounds like either your batteries are poor, or the foil is missing from your blade. I have four UE blades, three of which came with my flamberge so are of the new type with the deeper tip socket. All of them have diffusion foil inside, although the newer three have a ring of glue to hold them in place that conceals the end of the foil, so it's possible that it's in there and just difficult to see.

 My GB dark libby is as bright as my friend's CG dominix, and that's on standard AAA batteries. Have you tried swapping blades over between your sabers? It's possible it's a poor quality blade, and sometimes UE blades age under UV exposure, but because of their colouration you can't see it very well without the saber lit. A friend of mine, Tina, her archon was originally a bright VA, but that same blade is now very dim, and brightest towards tip and emitter, even though no changes have been made by either of us. It's just age that's done it.

 

I put in fresh batteries.

And then I looked at the other UE blades I have and yep, they have foil and this one doesn't.

edit: I guess when you order a custom sized UE blade, it doesn't come with the blade foil :(

I've ordered custom length blades and grab bag blades and they've all had the foil.  It's entirely possible it skipped a process in assembly with the foil so I'd suggest emailing US about it.  Aside from dueling it's job is to show light so it's important to have it resolved :)

 Glad i could give an idea! Yeah, i don't know what foil US actually use, but if anybody else here does it'd be a great piece of trivia, i'd like to replace the foil in one of my blades anyway as it's a little crumpled about a third of the way along   :D

Yeah when you order a custom blade on its own it looks like there is a note at the bottom saying "In order to easily cut this blade to a custom length the blade is not made with UltraFilm".

It is a shame and seems like a significant drawback of the custom blades. Whereas I think if you just put a comment on your order to request a custom length blade with a saber then I think you do get the film in it (I hope you do anyway as that is what I intend to do for my next order). I think you have to pay a bit extra to do it this way though.

Yeah. Its weird because when you order an Initiate, you can upgrade from a 24" to a 32" blade, and you can get UE. So I wonder if those blades are also sans film. And if so, how do I get a blade that fits my size in the style I want?

Just wanted to mention here - my 1st place prize (Crimson Scorpion) is a great example of why it's so great that US are incredibly customizable.

I already have a regular Scorp in Guardian Blue and now the Crimson one in R-G Emerald.

I decided to further differentiate them - I'm going to remove the emitter blade from the black Scorpion and use an all Silver War Glaive emitter as a pommel on the Crimson hilt.

With the Blue blade and no Claw - that will give the Black one more of a Jedi feel, and the Red blade, emitter claw and clawed pommel on the Crimson will give it an extremely distinct Sith look.

Love it!!!

I would recommend just sending Emory a e-mail.  I took this approach with my Emerald Manticore and I worked brilliantly.  I'll mention this a bit more in depth once I take pictures and post a review and pictures in the this thread.

Greetings Ultrasabers Family! My two entries into the Spring 2015 Raffle were the first Sabers that I have ever purchased of any kind.

My first Saber is the Manticore CE in Guardian Blue with Blue illuminated AV Switch and Silver FOC. After seeing all the videos and photos of this Saber, I was most excited about getting this one in, and it does not disappoint. WOW!

The second Saber that I purchased was the Scorpion in Blazing Red with Red illuminated AV Switch and Orange FOC. I must say that after getting this in my hands, it is even more beautiful than what the videos and photos were able to depict. This Saber is absolutely amazing and I find that I like it just as much and possibly even more than my Manticore CE. From top to bottom this Saber is a work of art.

Now, one of the two entries won me a First Prize in the Spring 2015 Raffle. To my surprise I received the Chosen One CE. That's right, the Collector's Edition with Nickel Plating. It has the Silver activation box with non-illuminated AV Switch.

As a first prize winner, I expected it to have the 2-channel Emerald Driver. When I first turned it on, the Blade Color appeared to be Violet Amethyst, and pulsed to what looked like a Sentinel Yellow. I didn’t understand how it was possible with a 2-channel driver to get that color combination. I downloaded the Emerald Driver software and hooked up my Saber to the computer and played with the settings. From what I can tell, I received the 4-channel driver as opposed to the expected 2-channel driver. So my First prize was a Chosen One CE with 4-Channel Emerald Driver with Obsidian Sound! All in all I am very pleased.

both of those sabers are awesome looking, that sentinel is growing on me.

Yeah, at first the sentinel was the one saber I hoped I wouldn't get. Turns out, it looks a lot better in person, and is definitely the most comfortable one I own! Definitely worth getting one!

It's funny how that works - I was hoping I wouldn't get a Crimson or Azure saber; just wasn't my thing.

So of course, my prize was a Crimson Scorpion.

Looks so much better in person - the pics online tend to make it look kind of rust-colored, orangey - but it is a much deeper red in person - looks great.

You really need to get anyone of these beauties in your hands to truly appreciate them - pictures almost never do them justice.

So now - my new Crimson Scorpion is my favorite saber and I wouldn't trade it for any of the other prizes I've seen on this thread.  I love my new baby!  ;D

Funny, I hear that often, but I don't think I could pull the trigger on an azure or crimson unless I received one as a grab bag/prize first

Here's some more pictures of my Spring Raffle First Place prize.

My prize was the Scorpion with sound and 2 channel Emerald driver.  The two Emerald channels are Red and Green.  The Scorpion arrived set up with a pulsing color from red to yellow orange with green FOC.  The illuminated AV switch is tied into the Red channel so that when the blade is full red, the switch illumination is off.  The saber arrived with a standard 36" UltraEdge blade.

I haven't combined mine yet.  Since I had the Scorpion in Blue and now my Crimson Scorpion prize in R-G Emerald, I decided to customize my Scorp in Blue to give it more of a Jedi look.  Differentiate the two.  Repaced the spiked pommel with a standard, vented low profile one.  Trying to get the Blade off now - first screw came out easy - having a hard time getting the 2nd out even with the long arm hex due to the location & angle.   :-\

That Scorpion staff looks massive!  Congrats!

That combination of dark hilt with SY looks fantastic! Point for you!

JediXIX.  Very Shmexy stealth Menace.  That all black with the yellow blade is fantastic.  Why couldn't I have thought of that.  +1.  :o

I do like the red knurled buttons on mine.  V3 sound would have been sufficient without the Emerald for this one.  Probably will be mainly used as a showpiece.  Is kinda impressive with the multi-colored blade changing effect.  Asked US to set the timing for me.

My Spring raffle purchase was a windowed dark v4 Initiate with v4 sound.  SRD with AB flash and green illuminated AV switch.  White AV would have looked better.  Have to say that I really like this simple saber and had previously received a free stunt one with a purchase.  Have so many v2 and v3 that I probably wasn't going to buy any v4's soon.  Will be getting at least one more probably in light side hilt.  Had seen a photo of Hazzard's with a black saber and either AB or SYD blade and it looked beautiful.

The 4th prize is a Dominix LE v2 in CG with 36" UEMG blade.  I love the v2's so was happy to get it.  For some reason I keep getting CG or GB with free sabers and never other colors.  :)

I am. I will eventually have a Dark staff as well, but right now I'm still working on my CE staff.
