Title: Bellicose Blade Holder Mod
Post by: richmbailey on June 09, 2015, 12:45:29 PM
One of the only things I do not like on the Bellicose was the separate blade holder assembly. For swapping out the blade plug and blade took three screws. Too much and cumbersome.

So I tapped an 8-32 screw hole through the blade holder assembly, and used a knurled 8-32 screw long enough to fit through the hilt and blade holder to make it one.

It is very secure and haven't had any issues. I may get a longer screw as the one I am using in the pics below is just barely long enough. Hope this helps with anyone else that doesn't like the original setup.

Nice, darkside point for you,
Yes, the ability to quickly swap bades/plugs quickly is a very "nice to have". I've wondered why it hasn't been added as an option to US

It could be included as a "higher-end" option on the customization setup for the sabers (Include blade retention wrench? No $0/ Yes $5/ Knurled "quick-change" screw $15)

I agree. But it didn't take much to do this. Just line up your hole on the holder. User the 8-32 Bit/Tap set and done. Took me 2 minutes. Ordered the knurled 8-32 screw from a third party. :)

Very nice. I'm gonna have to do this to mine. Does the new screw have to be where the greebly button is at or is that just something you added?

The greebly button was replaced with a knurled brass screw. It is only cosmetic. The knurled screw in the first picture has a 3/8" thread and goes through the hilt and blade assembly (the hole I tapped at 8-32).

So one screw holds it all together now.
