Title: The Dark War Scorpion
Post by: Lord Canterbury on June 25, 2015, 04:33:17 AM
Just for fun - I tried combining the 2 Sith-iest UltraSabers in this Galaxy & beyond.

Here is the result:

It looks kinda cool, but wow; it's really long for a single blade saber.

This is definitely a 2-handed saber!

Brother, there is much to learn, I have!  You are certainly a most skilled modding Sith!  Much to learn....beautiful creation!  I really like the ferocity of the hilt!  Point!

how the sodding heck do you dismantle a scorpion to change the emitter?

I'll have to measure it tonight after work and will let you know how long it actually is.

As far as removing the Scorpion emitter - you just need a long sae hex wrench to take out the 2 screws holding the claw on from the inside off.

After that - it's an easy unscrew like any other MHS.

From Claw to Pommel it's 19.5".

I would estimate about 2.5" from the claws (forgot to actually measure that) so it's roughly 17" without claws.

Nice and sinister, would love to see it lit up.

I'll get a pic up in Blazing Red this weekend!

Very sick. If you still have it you should put that ring piece from the pommel under the emitter if possible then itd be more complete :P

I put the piece on I think you were referring to - may be hard to see all lit up though.  Good idea.  Only thing is the widths didn't line up quite as well as I thought they would.

I'm curious what it's like wielding this saber given its size.

That looks fantastic light up like that!

Does it handle more like a force pike (light yari) than a lightsaber, given its size ?

I 'D say you definitely need 2 hands, but it's not quite as bad as I thought it would be.

That said - I would never use it for full contact - it's pretty long & slim up top, in a way that the components aren't designed to be per se.
