So, I was at Nero's apartment for the Hurricane.  Really we had no problem at all but we had some awesome times.  Added sound to our first saber using the Ultimate FX sound board from Target (that board is MUCH better than the Obi-wan).  Anyway.  We took some more pictures of our Robes and our sabers.  Tell us what you think!

I know this one is dark but we still liked the poses.  We also did played with getting the robes to sit right.  My sleeves can get in the way and without throwing the cape off of the shoulder for Nero it would also get in the way.

I know we would love to hear your thoughts on the outfits or what you like to see pictures of the NEXT time we get together.  Also, any videos you would like to see either on a specific FORM of combat or anything at all just post it here and the next time we get together we will make sure to make it happen.

Our Robes were made by Twin Roses of www.twinrosedesigns.com (http://www.twinrosedesigns.com)  They do very good work.  Just be accurate with what you're looking for and precise in your measurements because they make exactly what you ask for.

Haha Juyo or Makashi?  As a matter of fact Artorius uses Soresu and Vaapad (the controlled, Jedi version of Juyo) while I use Makashi primarily (occasionally Djem So).  I'm sure we could put some stuff together for you!

Ok Vaapad is the Jedi version, so yes I would like to see that and Makashi.

So how are those Ultimate FX soundboards? Any chance we can see some pictures of the install or a video of the board up and running so that we can hear how it sounds?

Thanks guys for the praise!  We are going to try to do a review of the new Frankensaber, I'll do it when I get home today if I can.  Should have done it yesterday when Artorius was still over, but oh well.  What I'd really like to do is get a better quality speaker to get some louder sound out of the saber, but for right now I'm not gonna bother - I will get it next time I order from Ultrasabers or TCSS or whatever.

To quickly summarize the board:  basically what you'd expect out of a cheap board which is between econo and FX sound quality.  We originally gutted an Obi Wan toy for the econo board, but the boards in those things are so crappy that it actually started falling apart as we experimented.  Too much soldering and unsoldering can do that I suppose... anyway we snagged one of these at Target for $35 and gave it a try, you'll see the results when I post the review later!

Is the econo board system small enough to possibly fit into a Liberator??

PS, I don't know what the dimensions of the liberator is.

I don't own a Liberator, but it should fit in.  We were trying to put it in an old Dominix v1 and a crappy old VV PVC stunt, and it fit in both of those so I don't see why the Liberator would be too small.

I was wondering, which material did you guys get for your robes. They look great. might be an option for me eventually. ;)

It should be linen but Ima guess it's cotton.

Artorius's robe and my cloak are made of medium weight woolens.  I like them a lot really, it's a perfect weight - doesn't get too hot, light enough to flow nicely, but heavy enough to lay well.  Some of the cotton ones or whatever just don't lay as well, you really do need a slightly heavier material in my opinion.

The tunic I'm wearing was also made by Twin Roses and is made of cotton twill.  It's a pretty good fabric for a tunic or whatever, idk I like it.

And I agree, the wool adds something to the drape. Something awesome. lol  ;D

Also: Nero is way, way too big.

We don't duel inside.  We're two professional bladesmen and we know better than to try that.  Also, his size just gives me a larger target  ;D  No but really, getting past his reach is always a tough job, especially since he's a fencer and likes to lunge.

Haha honestly im not even that huge, although looking back at the pics I do look giant for some reason.  I think its the low ceiling, I straight up look like im gonna hit my head or something loll.  Im 6'2" for the record.

@Vermentis:  yeah man the wool really is a good choice for the outer robes, I gotta give props to Twin Roses.  I would recommend them highly for custom stuff (or even standard jedi/sith gear).

But you are huge I'm 5'6, compared to me you might as well be Shaq. lol no offesnse ;D

I'm gonna maintain that when you guys get money to do so, Make linen robes, I'ts what they use int he films. I'd your robes when you' done Vermentis.

Wow, I've been away for a while. Programming classes take a lot of time out my schedule.  :(

I think when I finally get some more money (I hate being a poor college student. lol), I'll have to invest in one of their robes. But untill then I can just use my awesome trench coat.  8)
