Title: How do I store the LI-ion batteries properly?
Post by: Jedi Emi Takori on October 16, 2015, 12:04:06 AM
I just noticed in the manual it's best to leave them in the charger when not using my saber, so is it really okay to leave them in the charger plugged in even if they're fully charged? (sounds like a silly question but I'm new to this whole thing so yeah)

Yes they're fine sitting in the charger. The charger knows when the batteries are full and it'll trickle charge them to keep them topped off. It won't harm them at all.

Okay thank you :) as long as they don't overcharge (which I assume is what the trickle charge prevents) then I'm happy.

That's right the chargers are programmed not to overcharge but maintain them at optimum levels and sustain longevity. I have 4 chargers and I have batteries in them 24/7.

Hi Emi.  You have started two threads asking the same question.  One in Discussion and the other in Questions.  For future reference and easier flow please only submit a subject title once.  Your thread can be expanded upon as the information is given and new questions arise.  Thanks.

That's really interesting that the chargers can do something like that.

I always thought Lithium ion batteries overcharged a lot. But I guess it's quite useful if we can leave the batteries in the charger and not have to worry about damage being done to them, or their longevity decreased when you use your saber.  :D
