Title: My Archon V3 is Finally Here Post by: Gojira76 on October 24, 2015, 07:05:54 PM I got my saber yesterday. I had a grin on my face all day that wouldn't go away. I hope the pictures came out alright. I'm still new at posting and forums.

But - no, the pics aren't working. ;) I checked the code and you are trying to link to Facebook which I'm not sure is possible to do since the address is to a Frame and not an Image. If you upload your pics to Photobucket and use the "Direct Link" to the image from there in the manner you used the FB link - you should be fine. Direct Link looks like this: http://i1300.photobucket.com/albums/ag93/Lord_Canterbury/image.jpg1_zpsfpapeqjd.jpg It's best to point straight to the image file - like a .jpg - as opposed to a page. Hope that helps! Title: Re: My Archon V3 is Finally Here Post by: Zren Tobas on October 24, 2015, 08:17:14 PM Yeah want to see now :P I usually use the IMG link though for direct picture posting
Title: Re: My Archon V3 is Finally Here Post by: Gojira76 on October 31, 2015, 11:33:32 PM I hope these pictures work. But this is my saber.

I love the sound of the Obsidian V4 and the multiple options. I will have to play with the sound fonts and create my own. I want more sounds as I wave it around. The flash on clash is my wife's favorite part. I have Consular Green with Arctic Blue FOC. Next time I will either go with silver or orange FOC. I don't think this design is ideal for spinning. The covertech wheel I put on cut my hand on the side and the groves in the neck gave me blisters on the thumb; but, damn it's so much fun to play with. I really want a stunt saber now for spinning and dueling, if it ever happens. When I get my next one, I may try the grab bag saber idea. Any trouble removing the whole emitter from the body? Point for sharing ;D Title: Re: My Archon V3 is Finally Here Post by: Gojira76 on November 01, 2015, 11:42:57 PM Thank you Hazard502 for the advice. I have not had any trouble temping my emitter. It just took a little grip strength at first. I do like how the neck and emitter are two pieces. Gives me more customizing options.

Title: Re: My Archon V3 is Finally Here Post by: Gojira76 on November 05, 2015, 01:20:07 AM You have to get green with this one. It's too iconic of a saber not to.
Title: Re: My Archon V3 is Finally Here Post by: KraytDragonPearl on November 05, 2015, 01:43:14 AM Its Beautiful!
I got my shipping notice today and my Archon V3 will be here in the next few days. I can't wait! I decided to get it in Tri-C FO with quick disconnects so I can modify later if I want, but I wanted it to have a slightly darker look to it. I hope it looks as good IRL as it does in my mind. I have a dark initiate le v4 with the wheel on the left and it's a small hilt so when i grab on the low end with my left hand the wheel digs into the meat of my palm. It's kind of uncomfortable and I find my self rotating the saber in my hand 90 degrees to where only my pinkey touches it as it faces the back or 180 to where it's on the other side. Are you left or right handed? Or how do you hold the saber two handed? I ask because I'm currently thinking about the Archon 2.1 or 3. I see that they have the 2.1 emitter for $45 in the store but no v3 emitters yet so I almost want to get the V3 just because I don't want to end up paying even more for it later but it's got the classic look which means I have to have it at some point. Good ole fear of loss. But I really like the 2.1 emitter mostly because it's deeper and I see the individual pieces as a little more MHS and I want to collect a few MHS pieces so the hilt is perfect. If I get the 2.1 I was going to go silver with discs and CG if I go v3. The more I see the v3 the more I think I'm going that route. Especially when I see it in the CG. Very nice Points to you. I can put a covertech in later if I decide I want one. But I'm curious as to how it works out for you on the right side. You're thoughts appreciated. The Covertech also digs into my flesh as well. The Archon V3 is not good for spinning unless you hold it by the neck. I have never dueled, but I like two handed when I swing my saber. I'm going to go V3 and hold off on the wheel and put one in later if I feel I need it. I haven't pulled the trigger yet but it will probably happen before the night is over.

Title: Re: My Archon V3 is Finally Here Post by: Antron007 on December 01, 2015, 06:39:28 PM So has your neck broke at all or is that just some people trying to give us a bad name like always? Just curious. Really been wanting one lately and might get me one this week if I'm lucky enough I haven't banged mine around too much because I don't like the blade jiggle. That being said, mine looks real solid. I've only had it a couple of weeks but it seems real solid. I'm not worried about it breaking. If it weren't for the jiggle I wouldn't hesitate to give it a good banging but I'm afraid of the blade coming out. Even though no one has had it happen to them, I don't want the honor of being the first. |
