Title: Uses for the old blades Post by: SuperSword on September 10, 2011, 06:20:08 PM When I send a MR or Hasbro lightsaber into Ultrasabers to get converted, I always cut off the original blade first to make it easier to package and ship it. Usually I will just throw the old blade away, but I was wondering if there is any use for the old blades.
Title: Re: Uses for the old blades Post by: ThreadJack on September 10, 2011, 06:28:51 PM I don't really think so.

Title: Re: Uses for the old blades Post by: LoganV on September 10, 2011, 10:34:34 PM There is a use for them O:
I'm not an expert on it. But I'm pretty sure what some people do is gut the blade of all it's internals and put blade film in, like ultrasabers blades. I think I've also heard that some people have tried to use the stock internal diffuser, but with bad results on an LED setup. IMO, there's no use for the internals (led string/diffuser). Maybe for DIY EL builds but even then there are better resources for that. Makososai for one. So keep the bladestock. Invest in some diffusion film (http://www.ultrasabers.com/Blade-film-P197.aspx (http://www.ultrasabers.com/Blade-film-P197.aspx)) and hot glue. Use that blade for the saber it originally came (for the sake of fitting in the blade holder) or on any other saber it fits in and you're good. I'll try to find an example. Title: Re: Uses for the old blades Post by: Big Boss on September 10, 2011, 10:53:58 PM the best alternative for old blades that i have found is making them into blade plugs like this
