It finally arrived! I chose the all black original model, along with a DVA main blade and AS cross-guards. I used the Lee filters to match up the cross-guards. Despite there being such a huge difference on what it looks like in person versus on camera, I could not be happier. (Unless it was a real lightsaber, but that's besides the point.)

Any plans to customize your hilt now that you have it in your hands?

Do you already have the filters in? Or is the purple just affecting the silver crossguards that much?

I want it!  The all black Flamberge is the style I'd choose.  It looks awesome - point awarded.  May I request some pics with the silver cross blades?

I have some ideas, starting with some weathering. I'm going for an older, forgotten saber look. I'll probably make some emitter shrouds for the crossguards and do some sort of aged cloth wrap, either in an x around the crossguard or wrapped around the handle. Heck, I might do both.

 
The filters are in. Took all of 2 minutes to cut them out of the swatch sample and put them in.


Yep. I wanted something manageable. The 40 seemed too big. Im 5'9", so the 36 seemed appropriate.

Thank you very much Monobus, another point headed your way.  The side blades look very powerful and the combo looks good from here.  Curious, is this a look you think you'd use at some point?  (DVA main/silver sides?)

Me? Personally, no. I'm a stickler for continuity, and the Force Awakens Visual Dictionary shows that the cross-guard quillions are venting off what is emitted from the main blade. To that end all three blades work off of the same crystal, so they would be the same. Granted someone could just as easily draw up an alternative diagram showing three crystals and multiple blade colors, but I would just find that ineffective. Multiple crystals would mean multiple emitters, which means there are deadzones in the cross-guards construction, at least in respect to a lightsaber blade. Kylo Ren's cross-guards are emitted from the same point as the main blade, which means you could not cut down in between them. If you had multiple emitters, you could, causing a vulnerability.

Sorry for the ling-winded and rambling response, but it is something I have pondered about a bit.

That's exactly why having different colors on the main blade and plasma vents did not make any sense to me.

Actually looks kinda cool with the silver cross blades =] I kinda want me a Jedi side Flamberge CE now similar to the one seen in Rebels so will most likely get me one in Consular Green and Heavy Grade blades like always for that Rebels blades kinda glow

Jed you know me too well !   ;)   I am mopping up the drool and adjusting my eyes back into their sockets.  Oh now I again want a Flamberge so bad.  If only it wasn't a monster saber.   +1 to both Monobus and Jed.    8)
