Title: Free Initiate mini DIY
Post by: hengpy on April 20, 2016, 04:26:24 PM
Hi guys & gals!

I am totally new to the lightsaber scene  :)
Just received 1st two apprentice and a free initiate 2 days ago.

Thought I just shared a small DIY i did  ;D
Think it should be initiate v2 (i think) and i swopped out the blade for a 32"
The guarded switch was in the way when i doing some basic routines.
So I decided to do some paracord wrap

Hi and welcome to the Forum.  Good job of the paracord wrap. Looks very tidy and even.  Would like to see photos of the Apprentices that you received as well.  The start of a nice saber collection.  Are you collecting light or dark side Forum appreciation points ?

Looks good and the blade colors are bright.  I really like the comfortable grip of the Apprentices.  There could be a May 4th sound saber % off sale if you are wanting to try that out sooner than later.   :)

Nice paracord wrap, was thinking of doing something similar to a grab bag with wrap pattern similar to that I found in accidne t with looking for sageo wrap techs. Point for you, may the force set you free.

I'm loving the paracord wrapping you're doing to the sabres, so intricate! Must have taken you ages!

Actually i have easier access to paracords than leather wrap. The plus point of using white paracord is that it gets weathered easily after usage due to dirt. :P
Negative point is that it makes the grip very rough, and my fingers are sore after each wrap as alot of fingers strength are needed to pull them together.
As i am slow, each wrap takes about an hour to do. The pulling and tightening took most of the time.
But it is definitely different look and feel from the leather wrap!

Yeah I know what you mean with the sore hands after wrapping, I think it's just pulling the cord so tight lowers dexterity quickly.
