Title: Modified Initiate, thoughts on it? Post by: Franzie on May 04, 2016, 04:47:36 AM Started out as an Initiate with window cutouts, but i never really liked how it felt in my hand. So i grinded the ridges near the emitter. Created a guard with chemical metal. And siliconed the grooves for traction.
Now ive got a thin neck so I can twirl and spin easier. The hand grips it really well and automatically chokes up on the emitter guard. making it hard to hold it in any other way then how your supposed to. And sprayed the saber with Krylon an made it a little worn. Im gonna look over the painted guard to a more greyish worn look instead of the solid black one. First thing: You'll need to stop by the rules section, read them, and post an ok. We all did. http://www.saberforum.com/index.php?topic=117.0 (http://www.saberforum.com/index.php?topic=117.0) Great modification you did there. That looks pretty cool, and seems like it'd be functional. A good choke-point/hand grip is paramount. :) Good plan with ageing the guard a bit. Title: Re: Modified Initiate, thoughts on it? Post by: scifidude79 on May 04, 2016, 02:58:47 PM I like it! Light Side point for you. ;D The guard is very inventive. It probably makes it feel a bit more like a Samurai sword. The dark grooves really accent the silver nicely and the weathering looks spot on.
