SQUEEEEE!!!! Love it! So excited! Makes me wanna cosplay Wonder Woman now... and I'm a 6 foot tall, 300 pound guy. Title: Re: Wonder Woman Comic-Con Trailer Post by: Kham-Ryn Kurios on July 23, 2016, 07:29:59 PM That was delicious. ;D
My only gripe being, slaves don't get paid. Everything else? Top notch. Title: Re: Wonder Woman Comic-Con Trailer Post by: Drahcir on July 23, 2016, 07:30:18 PM Probably my most anticipated DC movie ever.
So hyped. Title: Re: Wonder Woman Comic-Con Trailer Post by: Darth Knox on July 23, 2016, 09:19:13 PM The action looks good. I still say she's too skinny to play the character, but i am willing to overlook that. Humour in a DC film was a nice addition. Not sure if i'm a fan of the muted Synder colour scheme. But overall, this definitely has potential. Am definitely anticipating Suicide Squad more than this, but it's only a first trailer so that may change
Title: Re: Wonder Woman Comic-Con Trailer Post by: hazard502 on July 23, 2016, 10:08:02 PM I'm sure some of you have read that some male super hero franchises aren't making near the profit that was hoped for, even though they keep making these movies.
I've also read that studios want to try and see how female leads in this genre will do vs. they're male counter parts . . . the results from this and others to follow should be interesting in that light. *Don't get me wrong, I'll see nearly every sci-fi/fantasy show "they" make, and there's a struggle to find sales beyond the hard core fan base such as ourselves* Title: Re: Wonder Woman Comic-Con Trailer Post by: Darth Knox on July 23, 2016, 10:21:45 PM There is a very simple reason why comic book movies (well movies in general) do not succedd at the box office. Bad script, bad characters, bad acting and/or bad directing.
For years studios have played the gender card as a reason why there are not more female led superhero movies. The most preposterous argument i heard was because Supergirl the movie was a flop that shows that female led comic book movies don't work. Which is quite frankly ridiculous. With the amount of amazing female actors around there is absolutely no reason why this argumentnis valid. When you look at iconoic femake characters like Ripley, Sarah Connor, The Bride in Kill Bill or Storm, Psylocke, Mystique, Wonder Woman and so many more in the comics that argument is even more ridiculous. I am hoping that Wonder Woman is a success, but if it isn't I hope the studios don't use it as an excuse to wait another 32 years before bringing a top tier female superhero to the big screen. I don't think they will. They already have Ghostbusters as their scapegoat. Title: Re: Wonder Woman Comic-Con Trailer Post by: Darth Knox on July 23, 2016, 11:13:46 PM I don't think they will. Title: Re: Wonder Woman Comic-Con Trailer Post by: Noctis on July 24, 2016, 01:23:58 AM I'm excited about the new Wonder Woman!
I can't comment on anything else without breaking rules, but I'm excited about this movie. :) Title: Re: Wonder Woman Comic-Con Trailer Post by: Darth Knox on July 24, 2016, 01:25:33 AM I'm excited about the new Wonder Woman! we like it when you're excitedI can't comment on anything else without breaking rules, but I'm excited about this movie. :) Title: Re: Wonder Woman Comic-Con Trailer Post by: hazard502 on July 24, 2016, 02:30:40 AM Not sure if I like the time period this is set in . . . if it's only based on what we saw in Batman vs Superman and for continuity. But I guess a more modern era will better showcase how powerful she is as oppose to the middle ages ect. Chris Pine is a win.

Chris Pine is a win. well as she is an immortal being who did fight in world war 1 (when this movie is set) then it does work. And will explain the photo of her that appeared in BvSTitle: Re: Wonder Woman Comic-Con Trailer Post by: Jev Moldara on July 24, 2016, 02:34:58 AM Not sure if I like the time period this is set in . . . if it's only based on what we saw in Batman vs Superman and for continuity. Even if it's technically considered the modern era, WWI was a century ago. Still a good enough time frame for things to drastically change without her being too out of touch with the rest of the world. I mean, she IS immortal, so technically the movie COULD have been set in the Middle Ages, depending on when she was born... Whoa ... Gal Gadot is simply bad azz. I like it. K Title: Re: Wonder Woman Comic-Con Trailer Post by: hazard502 on July 24, 2016, 02:40:55 AM ...you do realize that WWI was a century ago, right? Yeah but it's the idea that feels borrowed from the other movie and too similar to Cap America's intro film. I feel like it deserves a setting a little more unique that's all. Her first story actually took place in WWII. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/All_Star_Comics_8#.22Introducing_Wonder_Woman.22 So them shifting it to WWI is actually a way to differentiate it from the inevitable comparisons to Cap's story. Title: Re: Wonder Woman Comic-Con Trailer Post by: hazard502 on July 24, 2016, 03:08:50 AM That's fine, I was thinking some other deep back story developed through the years from the comics might be more fun and in particular inspired by some of the animated films released over the last few years.

Maybe they will explore some of those storylines in Justice League and later standalone moviesTitle: Re: Wonder Woman Comic-Con Trailer Post by: scifidude79 on July 24, 2016, 03:32:13 AM Duuuuude! I'm so going to the theater for this one. I loved every second of that trailer, though my favorite part was when they transitioned to the fantastic WW theme music from BvS. That music is flipping awesome. :)
That was delicious. ;D My only gripe being, slaves don't get paid. Everything else? Top notch. Coming from where she does, she wouldn't understand the concept of money or payment. Yeah, you probably shouldn't cosplay Wonder Woman. You're too tall. ;) Title: Re: Wonder Woman Comic-Con Trailer Post by: Darth Knox on July 24, 2016, 08:49:44 AM Yeah, you probably shouldn't cosplay Wonder Woman.
