Title: A few video props (Pic Heavy)
Post by: MONEYPYRO on August 15, 2016, 02:52:02 AM
Hey everyone! I think I've mentioned multiple times that I'm working on a new Star Wars video, and because of that, I've been making a few props. Most of these had already been painted, but I've redone them to give them a flatter look, rather than a glossy shiny look.

So first off, we have a pistol. I showed this in another post I made, but I've since then used some chrome paint to help weather it, and repainted the brown grip. This has been my first real attempt at weathering an object, and I don't think I did half bad.

Up next, I have what I call a Sith Artifact, or a Sith Holocron. Its just a painted Rubiks Cube, and oh my god was it a pain to paint. Or at least, a pain to tape off. Originally, the squares were a glossy black, and the lines were a very dull silver. Now, it's a flatter black, that looks a bit "old", and the lines were repainted in chrome, and give it a brighter silver look.

I also have a couple props which I don't think will be in this film, but they're still cool nonetheless. This is an old paintball/airsoft mask I had, which was terrible, so I decided to paint it. This picture is comparing the old version (top pictures) to the new (bottom pictures). I may or may not weather it at some point, but I think it works well as some sort of Acolyte, or Sith Apprentice mask.

And last but not least, is my Dark Apprentice. Now when I got this, I got it as a free initiate saber when I got all my UltraSabers. But one thing always kinda bothered me. Why is the blade blue, yet the hilt is black? Black isn't a very Jedi color, especially not when the blade is blue. So I decided to fix it up into an Apprentice LE style saber. It isn't as shiny as an actual Apprentice LE saber would be, but I think I did pretty good on it. First picture is the original look of the hilt

Seconds picture is the finished hilt compared to my Aeon V3

And finally, the finished hilt with an ignited blade

What are your guys' thoughts on what I made? Do you like them? Do you not? Let me know! I'm always open to comments on my work  ;D

EDIT: The pictures for the mask really don't do it justice, as the pictures I took of the old mask were taken with flash on, hence why the silver on it looks just about as shiny as on the new mask
