Title: Electrum Wind Short Review Post by: Lord Bladewraith on September 29, 2016, 10:48:42 PM Hey everybody - I received my Electrum Wind saber late Tuesday afternoon and could not... be... happier...! So I'm a little late here... it is so BEAUTIFUL! It's a work of art, and I love everything about it. I've mastered the Obsidian/Emerald Driver software, which is so much FUN! I've probably programmed 30 different colors and a dozen different sound font combintations so far - it's truly a HUGE perk that Ultrasabers has this included with their Emerald Driver/Obisidian V4 sabers. Blown away...
Here's a quick walkthrough of it, and I clearly room for improvement with my video review skills, such as making the video a little more interesting to watch, but I know I'll get there with more practice ::) I really want to do a more thorough video of everything Ultrasabers I have experienced so far and how they've made such a huge difference in my overall mood, having this new hobby connected to something I really love - Star Wars and Lightsabers! Here are the specs I chose on this saber: Electrum Wind (Emerald) with Obsidian V4 Sound, gold pommel, white illuminated silver AV switch, round blade socket, recharge port and configured with a dark violet amethyst blade color and bane's heart flash on clash. The past 3 weeks have been life changing because of Ultrasabers. Fantastic company, exquisite craftsmanship. Title: Re: Electrum Wind Short Review Post by: Rapine on September 30, 2016, 02:54:18 AM Excellent review Lord Bladewraith!
Way to go on the videos. Good plan on reducing the brightness of your AV switch. Maybe explain how you did that. I see you got a recharge port. Right on. I don't own a saber with one of those yet. :) +1 for cool. Title: Re: Electrum Wind Short Review Post by: Lord Bladewraith on September 30, 2016, 05:09:00 AM Excellent review Lord Bladewraith! Way to go on the videos. Good plan on reducing the brightness of your AV switch. Maybe explain how you did that. I see you got a recharge port. Right on. I don't own a saber with one of those yet. :) +1 for cool. Thanks, Lord Rapine! LOVE the recharge port. Definitely worth paying a little extra to have that installed. For the AV switch I had mine configured to have the LED 4 channel dedicated to the AV switch, so these instructions only really apply if you did something similar, dedicating LED 2, 3 or 4 to the AV Switch. It won't apply if you have your AV switch directly wired to the battery (Direct Drive). After ordering I had assumed the brightness level was fixed, but low and behold while playing around with the UltraSabers Launcher software, I disovered you could control the power level to LED 4 just as you could to LED 1, 2 and 3. In the UltraSabers Launcher on the "Emerald LED driver" tab in the "Idle Pulse" section, you click on the LED 4 slider button and lower the power level from 100% down to what you want for both the primary and secondary color. I have mine at 34.9% for both colors (that should be the same % for both the primary and secondary color in the "idle pulse" section so your AV button isn't pulsing, unless you want that, of course). Here's a screenshot: (http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f332/computingguy/screenshot1_zpspq8e1pnx.png) Then in the Flash on Clash Pulse section click on the first color, which is the color you want your flash-on-clash blade color to be, and if you want full brightness on the AV switch, leave LED 4 at 100%. Otherwise, use the slider button to reduce the power level on LED 4 to something lower to reduce brightness on the AV switch. If you do not want your AV button to flash brighter than the idle pulse brightness level when a flash-on-clash occurs, put it at the same power % level that you used in the "Idle Pulse" section. Definitely worth paying a little extra to have that installed. For the AV switch I had assumed the brightness level was fixed after you configured the AV switch one of three ways on their site, so heh, heh, I discovered this option when I was playing around with the UltraSabers Launcher software. In the UltraSabers Launcher on the "Emerald LED driver" tab in the "Idle Pulse" section, you click on the LED 4 slider button and lower the power level from 100% down to what you want for both the primary and secondary color. If you do not want your AV button to flash brighter when a flash-on-clash occurs, put it at the same power % level that you used in the "Idle Pulse" section.
