Title: Standard Issue grab bag customization
Post by: jhazard on December 09, 2016, 10:53:17 PM
A few months back, I got a Standard Issue as a grab bag.  Love this hilt, but after a while, the plain-ness of it started to annoy me.

So, I etched it (Ferric Chloride).  And changed the LED to a Deep Red, running with the USB Power bank set up described in another thread.  This is my first etching, for sure will be doing more...

Gorgeous!  The plainness of the SI does have it's own appeal . . . but you've made this come alive in a whole new way.  Point!

Thanks everyone, appreciated - I was initially inspired to do this by a post I saw here a while back.
