I have a question that is bothering me. I know for the grab bag sabers you can choose between metal and plastic and have the color whatever or random. what if I order a metal hilt, will this be a randomly designed saber in which you can't get anywhere else on the website, only by choosing a grab bag saber. Or will it be a hilt that you can buy on the website normally, like the dominix or standard issue or iniate?

It could be either one. Most likely you'll get something from their current inventory that has some cosmetic blemishes(minor scratches and smudges), but sometimes you'll get a hilt that's been discontinued for a while that they just had lying around, or something hobbled together from spare MHS parts.

To expand on Sanddeath's question:

Can we have a Covertec knob added to each of the Grab Bag, metal, sabers?

Yes. Just buy a covertech with the saber, and ask for it to be installed in the order comments box. They'll charge an extra seven bucks but it's better than ruining your saber.

QUESTIONS: has anyone got a shock from grab bag? was wondering and if you do get the lucky shock will it be with sound or no? do any of the grab bags come with sound?

I asked a while back through email about the covertec knob additions, here's the response I got from Deep:

"And we can install a covertec knob.  just buy it with your saber and request that we install it in the comments field of your order, it's an additional $10 to install it.  We can install it in any location you want us to, just tell us where you want it."

Because the Shock is fairly new, I highly doubt that would happen. Plus, it's a pretty pricey hilt and I don't think that would be considered "grab bag" material. I would be the first to be utterly "shocked" if that happened, lol

We've sent a couple shocks and a couple Banes as grab bags without sound.  They were returns and weren't in brand new condition and this almost never happens, but it's happened.

Now those are some great deals. Well, I guess I am Baned to be Shocked!  :D

Yup, based on recent reviews though it seems that SI is the most common saber from the grab bag.

ok so i'm biting the bullet and trying this out... had one of those "clear crystalizing moments" . Since i've been staring at Ultrasabers website for almost 6 months now trying to decide what saber to get with no progress... I figured I'd let the force decide... anyone been in that predicament

I just ordered 2 grab bags. Maybe I'll get one of those, "Never-Ever-Gonna-Happen-But-You-Can-Hope" Banes or Shocks.  ;D

my fingers are crossed too... but as long as they put my covertec wheel on, and t metal, i'll be happy

I picked random on all of my choices. I hope they're metal, but if they're neatly-designed PVC ones, I won't be too disappointed.  ;D

I'll probably be posting pictures up of them on Monday, if anyone is interested.

From what I understand of the Grab Bag, it is possible, though EXCEEDINGLY improbable.

I got my grab bag saber to day; after ordering on Friday.  I had ordered a hilt without a saber. I had ordered a blade sometime before; for a DIY saber project. The Standard Issue Battle Saber arrived without a Blade Retention Screw; where can I get one and what size?

to jedi hoot , just e-mail ultra sabers directly and tell them your saber didnt come with the screw and they will most likely send you one in the mail. that happened to me with my prophecy, it didnt have the covertec knob and Ultra sent me one. by the way thanks Ultra.

If you don't want to wait in the mail, go to your local hardware store and get a stainless steel 8-32 x 1/4" headless allen screw.  It will set you back about 20 cents.  Or we can mail you one and you'll get it sometime next week (Since it won't go out till Friday).

Looking at the Grab Bag sabers, I see that there's a choice between PVC and metal. I don't see any PVC hilts elsewhere on the site. Does US make still PVC sabers? Has anyone here personally received a PVC saber from the grab bag?

We always offered metal sabers since the very beginning.  We were never an all-PVC saber company. 

Due to the demand for sub-100 dollar sabers, we introduced a line of PVC sabers, called E-Series, which quickly became the most popular line of sabers we offered.  In time, we were able to implement revolutionary cost containment techniques on machined aluminum sabers, bringing them down to a price point never before seen in this hobby and still not seen anywhere else.  To this day, the Dominix V2 is the gold standard for saber design featuring an unequaled ratio of cost/quality/delivery.  At that point, the E-Series became redundant since the cost savings of PVC over a much higher quality aluminum hilt was so little.  Thus, the E-Series was phased out.

Although we do not manufacture PVC hilts anymore, we still have many PVC sabers available as Grab Bags.  They will eventually run out, of course, but not anytime soon.  Apparently, paying a small amount more for a metal hilt is by far the most popular option.

Don't worry Ultra, one of these days I'll be glad to take a few of those pvc's off your hands. But no more sabers until I get some steady income.

Ive been looking into the Grab bag as a saber for my gf... now with the color you choose will u necessarily get that color you chose? or could it be randomly any color?

If you choose any of the options, including color, you will get it.

I've got some of those graflex style grippy things, and I'm going to try my hand at customizing a hilt once I get enough to buy another one.

Would it be possible to get a grab bag and cheekily ask for one with minimal/no grooves towards the pommel for this purpose?

Or should I bite the bullet and risk wrecking a gorgeous looking liberator?
