I have heard there are many ways but I'm not aware of any? For Aluminum based hilts: Spray paint it with black paint Use sandpaper and scratch off until you get the desired effect Spray a few coats of epoxy clear coat on it. or regualr clear coat. If you have an empty hilt, you can bake it in an old toaster oven and cure the clear coat even better (2 hrs at 250 degrees works great) Here's an MR Ani I did into a Mustafar Ani (Mustafar series was created by Lord Dottore Matto (LDM)/GENERAL GRIEVOUS of FX-Sabers. This was an homage to his famous series (http://i688.photobucket.com/albums/vv244/CaineDrathul/Saber%20Builds/Mustafar%20Anakin%20homage%20build/IMG_8835.jpg) Olive Oil method: (NOT MY METHOD...I don't get any credit for this) Scratch up the hilt Rub a coat or two of olive oil on all over the parts you want to weather Bake a 550 degrees for 3 hours Take it out and toss it in cold water to "shock" it Spray with clear coat and bake it at 250 degrees for 2 hours Here is one I did recently (http://i688.photobucket.com/albums/vv244/CaineDrathul/Saber%20Builds/Spice%20Mines%20of%20Kessel%205/IMG_9051.jpg) Title: Re: How do you weather your saber?
