I've always been looking for just the right pommel to use for a Reaper, and I finally found one when Ultrasabers released the Dorinian. I always cut off a good chunk of the emitter on my reapers, and I think I'll leave this one without the claw as well, so here it is, all finished! This time I machined the remaining bits of the internal blade holder to make them silver so they blend better with the shroud. I had to leave some of the blade holder coming out or the socket depth would have been way shallow. Click thumbnails for a bigger pic.

Thanks for sharing this!  I was thinking the same thing but did not realize how wide the pommel looks in comparison to the hilt.

Looks good. Took me awhile to get my Reaper the way I wanted it also, the claws where the first thing to go.

Yeah its a bit more flared than the Menace emitter, but it tapers a lot more too which I think makes up for it. Its also a bit lighter, all in all I like it.

that looks awesome, it's barely recognizable as a reaper anymore. point for creativity and awesomeness!

Very cool!  Nice work :).  Hey, did you leave little ‘tabs’ (don’t know the word) or like class right at the top/ inside of blade socket on the emitter?  Maybe I’m seeing things but it looked like there were little forks/ class of material there?  If so, that a practical thing or style points?  Cause it looks sweet as hell. 

Good eye, Revan. Its a bit of both. The socket depth after cutting off all the extras was going to be a bit low if I did it flush, so I left the tabs there and cut at a narrow point in the emitter piece to remove the windowed section, but it did leave those tabs there. Still, it also keeps the saber duel worthy and by polishing them a bit they look like they're a part of the shroud, so I think it worked well, glad you appreciate it!

Nice but why take off the cool angled emitter section? :P Its what makes the Reaper, uh, the Reaper :P This gives me some more ideas though for sure =]

Simply put, because its' just too much. The emitter section sticks out from under the silver shroud which is the logical emitter for the saber. It looks a lot more cohesive this way and i find I prefer simple, subtle designs to ones with windows and claws and bevels and such.

Ultrasabers makes it very easy to add custom elements like different emitters and pomels, and you can always add a wrap or even fins if you know how to do it. Give it a go with your next order
