Title: 1st Customization of Dominix V4 Post by: Creative Force on April 25, 2018, 07:36:58 PM Customized my Dominic V4 stunt saber! Added sound, new switch and changed the color from FO to Blazing Red. Also added a Bellicose pommel. Very pleased with the result.

I dig it- especially the color choice for it! Those hilts are so versatile for some purdyin' up ;D
point! Title: Re: 1st Customization of Dominix V4 Post by: Creative Force on April 26, 2018, 01:03:21 AM So the red is actually red chrome vinyl that is used to wrap cars. I got a sample piece and used a Cricut to make all the cuts. (With lots of experimentation with paper first.)
As far as guidelines; I did a TON of research, reading through forms here and TCSS. Watched Videos (Madcow's videos are invaluable, I watched them multiple times), drew up diagrams and put them on forums for review by more experienced builders, and generally soaked up any and all information I could. the customization community is very helpful so don't be afraid to ask questions, but also don't expect to be spoon fed all the answers. The best advice I could give would be, take your time. It took me over a month to build this, making mistakes and learning from them along the way. But the end result is awesome. As a matter of fact, I've begun to draw up plans for the next one... ;) Title: Re: 1st Customization of Dominix V4 Post by: Therion Jinn on April 26, 2018, 02:41:57 AM Definitely liking how that turned out
Title: Re: 1st Customization of Dominix V4 Post by: Dauntless Seven on April 26, 2018, 07:09:10 PM Please keep us updated regarding how well that red chrome vinyl wears with use... for example if the color on the edges comes off and if the strips start to roll or shift. Also if the smoothness ultimately is too slippery. :)
