Title: Quick and dirty battery upgrade tutorial
Post by: Darth Cephalus on April 30, 2018, 02:20:41 AM
This video is a quick and dirty upgrade from the AAA battery setup that comes in a stunt Ultrasaber to an 18650 Lithium Ion battery cell. The power is more even, the internals are more durable, and you save money on batteries over time. Total upgrade cost in parts is around $15

This is definitely the first modification I need to do on my new stunt, so many thanks!

Thanks for this video? Is this something that is possible to do to sound setup? I'm sure it's a little more involved just curious. I'd love to get rid of my 14500s for a 18650

Yep. The voltage is the same. You just need to work a bit and maybe build something to get the speaker, the board and the battery to stay together so they don't flop around in there. Interesting side note, I have a super ghetto install of a leftover V1 obsidian that runs off regular AAAs. The boards are pretty forgiving as long as the voltage is close.

Good to know. I figured getting that speaker mounted to a new battery pack would be the most difficult part. But as far as wires, it should just be the red and black off the battery pack correct? I shouldn't have to mess with the wires coming off the sound board? And on another note just curious. Do you know if this is possible with an obsidian lite board?

The battery and the speaker wires. You will need to cut the speaker wires since they run through the battery pack.
