Title: Seeking Knowledge of the Seven Separate Forms
Post by: TempestatemX on July 15, 2018, 09:23:14 AM
Greetings Everyone

I have been for a number of years efficient with a lightsaber, however, with this forum of like-minded enthusiasts, I am hoping to gain enough material and knowledge of the separate forms to be able to improve upon my own skills and share that knowledge with others.

I ask if there are any Masters willing to impart with that knowledge perhaps with diagrams or videos, perhaps even links to reference material which gives a better in-depth understanding of lightsaber combat. So that those of us seeking to improve our skills and knowledge can learn from those of you who have a greater understanding and experience.

Form I: Shii-Cho
Form II: Makashi
Form III: Soresu
Form IV: Ataru
Form V: Shien/Djem So
Form VI: Niman
Form VII: Juyo/Vaapad

Be sure to browse the combat section. Everything you are looking for is in here, just spread out a little.

They are not the only ones who give "form" to the seven forms, but I like their format and training progression.

Point for the great advice!  I'm a member of TPLA, and advocate it strongly as a resource.  Everyone has their own take on the Seven Forms, but I truly think we do a great job of integrating it with real martial arts, allowing for both practicality and creativity.  Let me know if you have any questions!
