Title: Okay, here it is. The first of probably many....
Post by: SerenityActual on January 27, 2019, 01:53:38 AM
My first US came in today. It was a Dark Initiate, windowed with an AV switch, green color. With the initial JD.

Okay what is an AV switch, and who/what is JD? The person who packaged it? I also received a blade plug because I thought it was a good investment, but it is a little big for the saber.

I"m very excited. Looking forward to my next!

That's a nice saber to start with. The AV switch is an upgrade, JD is the person who packaged it and a blade plug is always a good investment.

Sweet score SerenityActual!

Yes, that switch is a nice upgrade.

Is the plug too long, or too short?

+1 regardless. :)

(this belongs in the Gallery section though) ;)

The plug is about 1/4 inch too long for the hilt, if the plug is supposed to be flush with the emitter opening. It doesn't matter. It is a great first blade. My only question is, can you add a covertech wheel to it? If not, how do you hang it from your belt?

The plug can be shortened by sanding it down.

Mark it, then place an entire sheet of medium sand paper on a flat surface.  Stand the plug vertically on the sand paper, and sand it down with circular motions.  That will go quick, and keep everything even. :)

Adding a covertech is a bit tougher.  You'd need to drill and tap a hole for that.   8-32 thread.

Nice first saber for sure and with a green blade too =] Yeah for my Crimson Savior it does kinda bug me any blade plugs don't sit flush with the emitter but not too too much, I don't mind when my blade color can be seen while wearing it out and stuff if I wanna show it off :P

Nice first saber! I got a similar one in my mystery box, Dominix V4(The longer "growm up version of your hilt) LE in Arctic Blue, with the AV switch. :)

I'm looking at an Initiate or Apprentice now.
