I don't clearly recall the soundtracks to many of them lol. :)

I think this is allowed: 1= Star Wars 1= Indiana Jones 3= E.T. I couldn't decide between SW and IJ so I chose both as equal first. One thing I do notice about John Williams' music is that he has certain thematic hooks and phrasing in his melodies and harmonies. For example compare the music from the desert scenes (The Jawa's theme and the Indiana Jones Tanis dig music) and he uses woodwind and quirky bouncing rhythms and sweeping cinematic hooks like those heard in Lawrence of Arabia. Another great example of William's music is Amistad where you can also hear these influences. I'm not sure if I've heard Empire of the Sun or not, but I imagine I have. Schindler's List is one of my favorite scores from any movie too. |
