Title: Custom sound job?
Post by: Ailowynn on December 10, 2011, 05:35:11 AM
I'm thinking of trying to add an econo sound board to my old Rifter and (if that works) my soon to come Phantom v3. The problem is that I don't know much about electronics. So should I try this? And regardless of whether I should, how would one go about doing this? Wiring, batteries, type of soundboard, cost, required hilt diameter, etc, etc?????

Thanks in advance

If you do not know much about electronics, you should not attempt such a thing.  Do research on electronics first, learn what you need, and then start small.  If you just jump right in there is real danger of damaging the saber and/or yourself.

I know it's risky, an I have a friend who's good at this stuff who said he would help. Basically, I was just asking for the Dummys version for myself, and also for advice on what board to use, etc.

Just save up and buy a fully loaded Obsidian saber.

This is the best advice. ;)

No way I'm gonna have enough cash for a decent Obsidian saber for at least another year or two though. Wish I could, but I can't. Besides, I'd like to have sound in one of my current sabers, not just a future one.
