Title: The Fallen LE ... with the beginning of the Transformation
Post by: Karmack on November 22, 2019, 09:12:41 PM
So it finally came!   The Fallen!

It looks great as-is.   I have to admit, looking at it, that I am hesitant to make changes...

But....        Yeah.  First, the pommel swap with a little more length, and showing off the "default" color of Adegan Silver.

Hmm.   And maybe a bit more trim on the emitter...

Yeah.  Now we're getting somewhere...

Phase 1 complete. Phase 2 coming soon!

This just convinces me that my next saber purchase MUST include the Fallen  ;)

Karm, this looks PERFECT for a Mak'Tor knight (again: they're the ideal analogue to a holy paladin or cleric).  Absolutely love the dual emitter shroud, but I have to ask: what pommel is that?  And although not my taste, that chevron-windowed emitter is awesome!

Can't wait for Phase II  :)

Point!

The pommel is a Butcher pommel, with a short extension.  That extension will change looks in the near future.

I love the chevron emitter, but I like the stock emitter, too.  There will be some debate going forward on which ends up on the final product, I am sure.   :-)

Also expect a color change on the blade, too.   :-)

That chevron emitter IS pretty schway-looking, I have to admit.  Even if I had one (which I don't), I'm not sure I'd trade it out for the stock Combat-Ready emitter, though; that thing is SWEET!

I'm going to have to take and post some more pictures of the sabers I got (and haven't re-homed yet) from the Halloween Giveaway.  You're making that painfully obvious.

LOL   Thanks.   :-)

Yeah, I'm having SERIOUS second thoughts about doing the emitter swap. Which means I will need to find a body for that emitter somewhere else...   Hmm...

Might be time to just start buying bits and pieces and really build my own...

Not a great fan of that black ring from the Butcher pommel against that nice yellow and silver. But I do really like the look of that extension. I can see it's ribbed, but are the edges sharp? Does it cut your hands when you slide from the silver ring onto the ribs?
And that emitter? I read that it's a chevron emitter, and I'm probably blind, but I can't find a Chevron blade or emitter on the US site. I like the look of it. But I'm with Cylcops on the great look of the origninal combat-ready emitter. I'm curious how that emiiter will look on other hilt as well.
Great project, I'm looking forward to seeing what you'll make of it. Maybe make your own line of Frankensabers?

This will eventually be a "character" saber, the penultimate (I hope) saber for Ka'A'Mack, Master Singer of the Mak'Tor.   :-)

The extension is indeed ribbed, its one of the "gear" extensions from TCSS.   It is not sharp, the edges are nicely rounded and the gears themselves round at the ends to blend down to the surrounding pieces.

As for the pommel...   The original intent was to get a Butcher LE pommel, but there were not available.   I have to admit I'm not as big a fan of it as I was hoping myself, but there are ... other changes ... coming to the hilt that might make it more palatable.   :-)

The emitter is also from TCSS, it is MHS v1 compatible and would fit any US saber with a removable emitter.   I still need to drill and tap the retention screw holes for the blade, and I am torn about using it as well.   The Fallen emitter is just ....   Yeah.

That's going to be a hard choice.

For now, though, this is only phase 1.   Phase 2 is coming ...     :-)

Nice work Karmack!  That Chevron emitter is pretty cool.  I'd have a tough time deciding too.  I bet once your other modifications are done one of those emitters will choose itself so to speak.

Didn't know the LE version would look so good. I have the Grand Master LE (my only yellow colored saber...thus far) and I really like it. I'm planning on getting the Fallen,  but now, I don't know.....
