Salutations, friends and neighbors.....

Oh how eagerly I've been waiting to start this thread....so my plan is, whenever I get an order from Ultrasabers, this is where I'll post my videos and photos.  And what better way to kick it off than with my very first unboxing video.  Pictures will be posted separately.

Full disclosure....you'll hear it in this video, but the second I picked up that first saber for the first time, the kid in me came right out, I couldn't help myself.  And my mother, who was with me watching (she's not on camera but you'll hear her at times), she got as into it as I did.  We had a great time.  This was all absolutely worth the wait.

A better shot of the Frankensaber.   Took me a while to analyze it, but I'm pretty sure it's the Raven hilt, with two claws from the Dark War Glaive, the Guardian pommel (maybe) and the metal overlay on the hilt is from the Mantis.   With a diamond switchbox thrown in for good measure,.  Green blade with silver flash on clash.

I've named it the Emerald Fury.

LMAO....my mother told me last night, anytime I feel the need to check them out to go right ahead.  I probably will, too.   :D

Actually, one thing I do want to do is check out the blades on the 4 freebies, I know they're ultra edge (and I'm glad for the comparison, even though I love the "steel bar" look of the regular midgrade), but i'm not sure if they're all the light grade or not - the initiate blade really felt like it could have been heavy grade.   That saber had some weight to it for its size.  But even the regular grade...I whacked a dining room chair with one of them by accident and it did nothing to the blade, so the midgrades seem tougher than one would expect.   Not compared to heavy grade, for sure, but on its own, absolutely.  And there was some paraphernalia in the bag with the blade plugs that I didn't check out yesterday, I'll have to take a look.

My initiate felt really heavy for its size as well. Seems almost as heave as my Grabbag.

No complaints from me about that if it is a heavy grade; I'm glad that I get to compare the blades.

Oh, I'm hoping it will be.  It's a good way to start this hobby off, I think.    ;D

Thought I'd give this one it's own highlight: the Shock.  This was my free mystery box.  I know it looks kind of plain compared to some of the others, as far as having a lot of bells and whistles on the hilt, but I think its simplicity gives it a kind of elegance.   And the chrome finish helps the color of the blade stand out, I think.

Very true.

I might dress it up with a different pommel, though; the Archon Classic looks good....little bit of flair at the bottom while keeping that all chrome look.  But I'll leave the emitter alone; I kind of like that look with the blade.

Had the opportunity to inspect the freebies a little more...sure enough, they equipped the Initiate with a heavy grade blade and the other three with midgrade....

Whether it was a random upgrade or deliberate, I don't know.  I've already ordered a midgrade blade to replace it; I don't want any of my youngest son's friends cracking heads with the thing, LOL.  As for what I'll do with the blade itself, I'm sure I'll figure something out.

My initiate is also a heavy grade, received around the same time as yours. I wonder if they ran out of mid grade 24” blades. I don’t mind it. I kinda like the added weight on the tiny saber.

Hey, thanks!  There will be more, I've just backed off of ordering for now.  Hoping that the Princess that I ordered will be released soon and I can do a review of that one.

Thanks, man.  It was a fun video to make, the first of several, I hope.  And yeah, that Frankensaber is a gem, I love it!

Well, I had the opportunity earlier this evening to get to my parents' house and shoot a video, so I took it.  This one isn't nearly as long as my first video, simply because it was only the one saber.  As with that first one, you'll hear my mother in the background; she's enjoying this whole thing as much as I am.  I also took a couple of photos, I'll post those separately.

Not gonna lie, this was a little bittersweet, given the circumstances...I really think my wife would have loved it.  This one will probably be kept in my room, but I already have a display idea in mind.

As I mentioned to Malik Thanewulf about his saber, the Princess in gold LE and with the purple blade is a fantastic look. Congrats on choosing such a magnificent hilt and long may it bring you happiness whenever you admire it.

Thanks, FT.  The blade color was not a random choice, purple was her favorite color.  But I agree, it goes beautifully with the gold.  Very regal.

The Princess LE with a VA blade is on top of my list now ;)

You know, I hadn't really perused the Princess before now, but seeing your hilt (gorgeous color combo with the gold and VA blade!) has convinced me that I need to add this saber to my own arsenal and soon  :)

And like your wife, mine also favors the VA blade (when she picked her own hilt, she went with an Aeon v3; I think once I show her your video/pics she'll want a second saber   ;)).

It looks beautiful, and it’s obvious your mom really appreciates it, too. This is so nice; I’m glad you could do this.

I jokingly tell her that she's an enabler for a Star Wars junkie, LOL.  When I told her my idea about getting them as gifts for the kids, I was expecting her to talk me out of it - crazy idea, costly, etc - but she's been the exact opposite; it was her idea to stash the sabers at their house so the surprise didn't get ruined.  When I told her about the Princess and why I was getting it, she absolutely loved the idea; her eyes popped when she saw it.

Great color combo on that Princess, I got the VA on my Dark Princess but I like that gold/violet combo!

I was debating on getting the dark hilt, but something about the gold just seemed right.  Either way, the construction of the hilt itself is really fine, whatever color you pick.

Those are some great choices! Waiting until Christmas is going to be tough! But if you need one more excuse to check them out, since you’ll be waiting 3 months until you get to play with them, take out the batteries with anything that has sound. Sound sabers will drain your batteries. And recharagable batteries shouldn’t sit that long in the saber when not in use. Also, lithium Ion batteries retain their life best if you charge them regularly—like once every month or so. They won’t fade a whole lot of you take them out of the saber, but still may want to give them a charge before Christmas—just because 3 months is a while—and they’ll be ready to go :)

Way ahead of you, my friend; I took the batteries out of all the sabers when I was done making the video.   I plan on setting it all back up and charging them up a few days before Christmas, that way they'll be ready to go.

Sounds good! Since you said it was your first unboxing I figured i would mention it just in case. BTW, did you pay extra for sound in the Frankensaber, or just got lucky? I haven’t seen a lot of folks get sound in those. It’s a great saber regardless.

I did have to pay extra for the sound, recharge port with cable, the illuminated switch, and flash on clash, although I did not specify the color.  Luckily it was just a matter of a few back-n-forth emails, and they explained the payment process to me, it was pretty simple.   The only reason I did it was because it was a Frankensaber, and I couldn't pass up the opportunity to jazz it up even more.  The end result speaks for itself.

I wasn’t thinking when I got my Frankensaber, and I ended up sending it back in to have it upgraded with Diamond sound/color, recharge port, Covertec wheel, and illuminated AV switch, and the cost difference in sending it back convinced me that if I ever win another Frankensaber, I will get it upgraded before they ship it to me.  I’m VERY happy to have it upgraded, but I could have saved the disassembly/reassembly fee and the round-trip shipping costs by getting the upgrades done before I ever held it.

Having said that, I needed to wait THIS time because of several factors, including the simple fact that I didn’t know I WANTED any upgrades.

Not to mention the wait time to get it back after you ship it out to the company, and hoping nothing happens in transit...better to get it done ahead of time, if possible.

Oh, yeah!  I had the thing insured for $700 when I shipped it, simply because it’s unique and irreplaceable.

Been rewatching my video; that Frankensaber is definitely a two-hander.  No whirling or twirling with that one, that's a William Wallace bulldozer.    :D

Great minds think alike; I had two Fallen LEs in my cart before I decided to make the switch to the Spectre.  Great haul, man. Congrats!

Oh, if you saw the video, then you know how i feel about the Fallen.  I HIGHLY recommend that as a future purchase.

As for upgrading the Frankensaber; when you email them, include your order number in the subject line and mention it right there, "Frankensaber upgrading"  Good luck, hope everything goes smoothly.

Your reaction when you fired up the Manticore was just too perfect XD turning on a stunt saber is alright but it's got to have that iconic sound to get the full effect!  Beautiful collection.  What are you planning on adding to it next?

LOL...someone here once told me, as I was waiting for my order, "there's nothing like your first experience with a sound saber," and they were right.  It totally blew me away.

As for what's next, I've got a long wishlist, but my next immediate purchase will be the Spectre, and probably the Scorpion after that.

Right on! I do love the Scorpion.  I think before I pull the trigger on that one though, I'll probably go for either the Butcher or Fulcrum & Lost Gray.  I'm going to spend way too much money here in the near future!

Gotta update this one since I've added to the Arsenal.   I'll give each one a separate video review sometime soon, but trust me, these two are mighty fine additions.

I for sure watched your video, they are some pretty clean looking lightsabers you've gained. Glad you have a purple one to wave around now, and one you'd wanted for a while I suppose as well. Not to mention both have sound and FOC so even more fun there.
