Title: Gift for Wedding
Post by: micahman6525 on November 07, 2020, 05:47:23 PM
Hello, So my best friend is getting married and we both share a passion for Star Wars and he has constantly talked about purchasing a light saber of his own. I wanted to purchase 2 light sabers for them so they can either dual or use it as a nightlight lol.   I have zero idea on the blade/hilt to get because there are SO many options, was wondering if anyone could give recommendations? Thanks

Micah

Order EARLY!!!!!

Or order two Mystery Box sabers (with sound, if that’s important) and you probably won’t have to wait so long.

Does he have a favorite character? Obi one,  Qui gon, Luke, Vader? If so,  you could get that hilt for him and maybe an Empress for her.

Use the knowledge of your friend's love of Star Wars to help with the decision. You've most likely discussed which characters and sabers were cool at some time before just like Malik mentioned, that info is super valuable now. Beyond that there are more aesthetic options like does he have larger hands? In that case, one of the 12 inch hilts might be preferable to the sub-10 inch ones. Think he might wear it? A covertec wheel is in order then. If you think they might be dueling hard then heavy grade is what I'd recommend, whether to go Ultraedge or non-UE really has to do with the color of the blade. Honestly pretty much all the hilts are cool for different reasons, you can't exactly go wrong with any of them. It's been stated, but do not delay when ordering, who knows what the future holds? As soon as you make your decision is when I would place the order. If all goes well you'll sit on the gift for several months but it is certainly preferable to having to give the wedding gift a few months late.

The Ultra-edge blades are brighter than the standard blades. The heavy grade blades are duel worthy but not as good for the wrist. I have 2 of the 36"s. The Ultra-edge mid grade blades are lightweight and pleasant to use. I have many more. The size is totally at your discretion. I wouldn't pick a smaller one than 32' or larger than 36" (average.) the v5 apprentice LE's are very close to the color gold. The most cost effective sabers are available in gold. The v5 sentintel LE was one of my 1st sabers. They're just like the v5 apprentice LE but much longer. Have fun and the best to you and your friends!!!

Eh, I don't know about that.  ;) Ultraedge certainly makes the blade fuller but not actually brighter, per Deep http://www.saberforum.com/index.php?topic=3096.0 (http://www.saberforum.com/index.php?topic=3096.0)

You couldn't go wrong with the Electrum Wind.
