Title: Consular Won't stay on. Post by: DarthMythus on March 18, 2021, 05:14:33 AM My Consular Lightsaber won't stay on, when I turn it on it immediately turned itself back of and I hear "Obsidian." It's got an Obsidian Lite Soundboard with a standard battery set up. Help?

I wound up with a slight voltage reduction when I moved to rechargeable vs disposable without noticing at first... Btw, welcome DarthMythus; hope your issue is resolved expediently. Any of the major brands should be fine but the better the battery the better result. Cheaply made batteries can provide the right voltage but might not be ables to release the needed current, especially in sound sabers. I had a friend here complaining how bad Ultrasabers are made becuase his Lite equipped saber restarted/rebooted every time it clashed and they kept telling h9m batteries but he had just put in brand new out of the box batteries in. Idid some test and got the same result then opened it and found Dollar store Sunbeam batteries in it. I changes them out for some of my Energizer rechargeables and plaed with it for over and hour initiating swings and clashes before i even started to notice any dimming, much less restarting. AAA Rechargeable batteries do have a lower starting voltage 1.2 vs 1.5 than alkaline batteries but the chemistry of their construction lets them lose voltage slower and also maintains a more constant current over a larger portion of their usable voltage. So the difference aside from saving money on replacements doesn't look like much. Title: Re: Consular Won't stay on. Post by: DarthProdigal on March 18, 2021, 07:11:51 PM Awesome to hear, thanks! Especially since I went with that brand myself. If it's the go to for you then I'm reassured. So far they haven't let me down. Also appreciate the speedy reply.
